  1. 5th inning. 4-2 BoSox, man on 1st, 1 out. DP groundball to Graff. Buckner part 2. Now runners on 2nd and 3rd with 1 out. Pods gets out, now 2 outs. Iguchi hits a 3-R homer. 5-4 ChiSox. No more runs scored, Jenks owns us. Game.
  2. I still love the guy, and it's a shame it had to happen to him. I still think this series goes 5 games. We are no strangers to these situations.
  3. I swear to God, if Tito starts Clement in game 5 (if we even make it there...) I will be in full support of firing Tito and hiring Macha  ... I wish.
  4. Excuse me while I go kill myself. The ChiSox were never meant to be taken lightly. 2003 all over again, I hope. Argh. No Pedro or Lowe this time around though At least bring it back to Chicago so if they win the series they can do it over there with their fans, I don't want them celebrating at Fenway.
  5. You can't ask for it to stop anymore. It's the playoffs. No more advice, s*** like this costs us games, and precious ones. It's not the regular season anymore.
  6. Hahah yeah, that person was me. But apparently there's only 1 travel day so there won't be enough days of rest for him to be on normal rest.
  7. Uh, that's weird. No travel day between possibly going back to Chicago for a game 5? Interesting. Hmm...then looks like Papelbon will have to be a big possibility.
  8. We do have a choice. As I pointed out in the game thread, Boomer would be available on normal rest, or Papelbon. I don't wanna see Clement OR Arroyo on the mound when you have those options.
  9. Wait, I also just remembered. If we got to a game 5, using travel days (2 of them between Boomer's start tomorrow, and 2 game days at Fenway)...we could ALSO use Boomer on normal rest.
  10. To clarify: In a possibly GAME 5 situation we are talking about. Not any game sooner. But I literally JUST remembered that Papelbon could be our starter. How did I overlook that....?
  11. Uh...here's a thought: What about starting Papelbon?
  12. Clement looked worse than when Contreras was in NY. AND, no one wants to be on the brink of elimination often. 0% margin for error. AND, if it goes to game 5, we match up either Arroyo or Clement, who both are insanely unpredictable, against a relentless, ass-hauling Contreras. Contreras is not what he was in NY. He is a 100x better pitcher, and possibly one of the best in the MLB. If he kept pitching like this throughout the whole season, no doubt in my mind he wins AL Cy Young.
  13. Yeah, that had to hurt. Clearly unintentional though, as seeing what Giambi did next.
  14. I want to the Yankees to lose. Now that we've beat them and won a WS going through them, I just don't care who we go through to win one now. I'd rather face the Angels, because of last year's results, than the hot Yankees. But whatever works will be fine.
  15. No, he gets mad when they are made BEFORE the Sox gamethreads. This however, will float his boat just fine
  16. Oh, well, uh, COOL! He runs out of gas, people.
  17. ... Did I not say that I meant it in a sarcastic way... Sorry if you took it too seriously, but you can thank all the dumbasses that support your team that came on and talked s*** on a RED SOX fan discussion forum. Had to get it out of my system. That post was directed solely at the trolls, and not any good ChiSox fan, like yourself.
  18. We almost showed them what it was all about...17 unanswered points. But then hell broke loose. Argh. BC can definitely compete though.
  19. Historically, he's terrible in the second half of the season. He just runs out of gas. It's unexplainable...
  20. Any trolls in here, are really showing their lack of playoff experience thinking sweep We'll see...we'll see. 1917. Bitches. Sorry, couldn't resist Happened to us a lot.
  21. It was the first inning....Arroyo shouldn't have been in yet. Are you dumb, or are you just looking for a reason to ALWAYS rip on Tito? Clement was getting the start, Arroyo wasn't. Bottom line.
  22. We are getting an increased amount of frontrunning idiots on the board today. Wonder why...
  23. Bullpen. Now. Please. For the love of God.
  24. Correct. Right now, Contreras is the hottest pitcher on that staff of incredibly talented arms. While his career numbers against the BoSox are ugly (2-4, 11.22), his fastball has been electrifying, the splitter devastating, and he is very unpredictable at this point. Contreras is a changed pitcher since when he was with the Skanks, and all the credit in the world to him for turning it around. If I HAD to choose a game that I think the ChiSox are gunna undoubtedly win, it's game 1 between Clement and Contreras. Contreras did make us look pretty bad earlier this season in Chicago, and Clement, ack, inconsistency can kill a team. We have proven superiority to Buehrle and Garland (a la the most recent series at Fenway, not that stupid 1 game series though). It's gunna be tough, but I wouldn't be surprised to see either of these 2 teams in the ALCS. Rather, I won't be surprised a bit at who goes to the World Series from the AL. There is a TON of talent on every team, and each team deserves to go to the Series. Gunna be fun to watch. First pitch of this series in 17.5 hours!!
  25. Well, if your reasoning that the ChiSox could win the first 2 games is the reason we will lose the series, you are seriously mistaken. While the ChiSox are absolutely a great team, and a force to be reckoned with, what happened in 2003 with the A's? We came back from 0-2. Last year? Even BETTER! Back from down 0-3. Oh yeah, an official welcome to all the new ChiSox fans, good luck, will be on helluva series
