  1. Hahaha ORS, all you say is "aloha" now. Dunno why, but makes me laugh a little.
  2. Welcome, Kevin
  3. Well, he went to slide feet first but his heel got caught in the dirt and flipped him into a head first position. But yes, doesn't seem too serious.
  4. Don Orsillo and the Rem-dawg are awesome. They always have their own fun in the booth while maintaining great commentary on the game. Haha, they both crack up at their own jokes and have friendly conversation which keeps a laidback part of their commentary afloat. I even laugh at their goofiness sometimes. I mean, at one point last night or 2 nights ago they were talking about how Orsillo sort of looks like Nick Cafardo Hahahah seriously those 2 guys are hilarious.
  5. Welcome....I would have said "ayo" but YanksHater sucks.
  6. The thing I love about Papelbon is that he could be used the same way Mo is used for the Yanks. He would have no problem getting 6 outs + the save if need be, and I don't exactly have the greatest faith in Foulke to get that done.
  7. Rivernator started a game thread? Not happening. I personally think Bard will have a solid defensive day, but will stay silent with the bat. We shall see though. I don't understand taking Coco out. I know he's 1-7 against Lopez, but he's great defensively and if he gets on base we'll have a runner on second via the steal. He's also one of the Sox that hasn't faced Lopez as a Red Sox in the past. I know you gotta rest guys, but tomorrow's an off day. Why is Coco out anyway? Just resting him or what?
  8. Haha, I remember when you first joined you were pleading with us not to hate you, because you JUST recognized the irony as you made your first post. That was funny. And as long as the Yanks keep losing and causing the Skank fans pain, I will stay off creating threads
  9. I don't think they "overachieved" all season. They had a disastrous record against BU and almost blew winning the conference. They have a ton of talent, and they will definitely be back. My cousins were pretty bumbed out about last night but they are definitely confident that they'll be back and win it within the next 2 years. I think I heard on ESPN last night that 30% of their goals on the season came from freshmen. The next few years looks pretty good.
  10. Hahahah what happened with the old thread or whatever? Someone else started one? Hmmmm... Haha, RSR, were you the first one to use that Red Sox Baseball graphic between the 2 pitchers? I forget. Just curious. And...let's hope Wake's performance last time was only because he was in Texas. Wake can keep us in any game, but our offense is going to need to step up against Rodrigo "Red Sox Killer" Lopez. About half the guys on the field today haven't faced Lopez as a Red Sox, so hopefully Lopez's dominance over the Sox sizzles out today. Go Sox! EDIT: Haha, Papi really has TWO triples off of Lopez? That's funny
  11. In fairness to the Yankees, they are starting out on the west coast which is pretty difficult. Then again, the Sox will eventually have to go out there, just at a different time. But seriously, Ervin Santana is supposed to be a stud. The Yankee lineup on the other hand....needs to be able to kill pitchers. They signed Damon to give them that leadoff hitter they need, and they have all the talent in that world in that lineup. How they aren't hitting these pitchers recently is beyond me. Someone help me out here.
  12. No, the Reds dumped him because they were desperate for pitching. They already have enough OF. The Sox needed to get rid of pitching because they had too much. And by the way, what are you smoking? You just compared Willy Mo and Bellhorn to each other...they are two TOTALLY different players. Just look at their build...Pena has a ton of power in him, he just needs to work on his mechanics. And you are wrong when you say nothing will change. Anything can be fixed. Bellhorn's been striking out for years, but he was patient at the plate, which is why he also drew so many walks. Pena will get there. Give the man time. Not all young players are effective immediately, like Papelbon.
  13. It was just that Wisconsin was really good. BC is known to do well with shorthanded goals and killing powerplays, so I don't think it was as big of a problem as it's made out to be. What really sucks is that they lost 2-1, and with about .9 seconds left in the third period, BC shoots the puck and the puck slides in and bounces off the post. Talk about tough luck...
  14. What do you mean by "only when it's necessary?"
  15. Don't get upset Rivernator, I may have had my share of beefs with you, but BoSox is easily not worth any of your time.
  16. BoSox34, you are honestly one of the most ignorant and stupid people I may have ever communicated with. The Yankees will have a better season than the Rockies. That goes without saying. But, let me clarify something...you are saying that the following people: Jeter Rivera Moose Cano Matsui Damon ...others that don't need to be said considering I'm not making a long list... Steroids? That can only be said about Sheff and Giambi. As for washed up...you are wrong. Dead wrong. Only a few...namely Johnson is old, but he's still dominant. Bernie is a bit washed up though. Yes, the Yankees front office is full of a bunch of dopes...that's why they bring in players year after year who ALWAYS compete. I think you're just upset that your Rockies can't do the same.
  17. Ok, my apologies for the highjacking of this thread.
  18. Yes, very upset that I'm going to lose a league that means nothing to me. I just so happen to have started it too. Don't make me f*** you up via commissioner controls.
  19. Thanks for your input. It's well considered.
  20. I'm sure most Sox fans have long forgotten the days of the Demon with Coco's stellar play. A 4-1 record through 5 games is great, and with the pitching that we've seen in ALL of our pitchers thus far, with the exception of Wake (who always gets beaten up in Texas, so we shouldn't take that start too seriously and wait for the start tomorrow), I am very excited. Sure, it's early, but who's to say that this WON'T continue? I'm sure if Schill was going to be in his 2005 form, we would have seen some symptoms. But all we've seen is the good ol' 2004 Schill. I agree with you 100% seabeach that so far this year, everything is an improvement. We even get to see some stolen bases from Coco that we wouldn't have gotten to see as much if we had Demon. Sure, bad move on stealing 3rd, but hey, at least there was an attempt! I'm very excited about this season. I know we've played the Orioles, who aren't great, but we did hit the ball pretty well overall against Texas like expected, and our pitching definitely shut down the Rangers' lineup, which is one of the best lineups in the MLB. This Sox team, IMO, is something special. I have a very good feeling about this season. (Then again, I always have good feelings about every season )
  21. Ouch. So, that sorta sucks. BC has a good 2 years coming up though, with a lot of sophomores and some great freshmen on the team.
  22. No, but Opening Day came and went. And Schill, after Opening Day, is still pitching very well. You said Opening Day would be good, but then he'd be the Schill of '05 again. This is after Opening Day, and it's looking like the Schill of '04.
  23. Oh boy. Well, now that we're talking about jokes and no jokes....what the hell happened to the ChiSox? Losing 2/3 to Cleveland, and already lost the series against the 100-loss Royals by losing today and yesterday... Wow. Anyway, yeah, it's still early, but it would be way too much to say that all this hitting is just a coincidence considering there's SO GODDAMN MUCH OF IT.
  24. You only post in the word association thread. Until further notice, shut up.
  25. ... It was dead until you just brought it up again. I responded to it within 3 minutes. You responded to mine after it was a dead deal after 20 minutes. Has the game officially started yet or no?
