  1. Hahahahahaha, only the best in protection! Well, Joe, you f***ing need it.
  2. I will side with you on that one.
  3. Hahahah Joe West. I remember him very well. I think he screwed McCarty out of a home run at Tampa a few years ago. He was pretty decent yesterday though at Florida.
  4. I think you scared him away from the board after his true self was exposed.
  5. Why couldn't the Mets just have been smart and kept Kazmir? What the hell were they thinking trading him for Zambrano? I'm also mad that we won't get to beat up Hendrickson this series...
  6. Just a random question: Since we're talking about umpires, wasn't McClullen (sp?) voted by the players as the best umpire that manages the plate? I forget if I heard that somewhere or what, but I never once saw someone second guess his calls. It was nice to watch when we played the Mets.
  7. I still don't understand what the Mets saw in Victor Zambrano. If they just held onto Kazmir they wouldn't have had to worry about Soler this year... They'd be deadly.
  8. Yeah, basically Lou Gehrig. There's no need for all the rounds. BRACKET ONE Lou Gehrig (New York Yankees) vs Chris Chambliss (New York Yankees) Willie McCovey (San Francisco Giants) vs Joe Kuhel (Washington Senators) Jeff Bagwell (Houston Astros) vs Phil Cavarretta (Chicago Cubs) Johnny Mize (St. Louis Cardinals) vs Bill White (St. Louis Cardinals) Rod Carew (Minnesota Twins) vs Harry Davis (Philadelphia Athletics) Todd Helton (Colorado Rockies) vs Hal Trosky (Cleveland Guardians) Don Mattingly (New York Yankees) vs Jake Fournier (Chicago White Sox) Jake Beckley (Pittsburgh Pirates) vs Dolph Camilli (Brooklyn Dodgers) BRACKET TWO Jimmie Foxx (Philadelphia Athletics) vs Stuffy McInnis (Philadelphia Athletics) Harmon Killebrew (Minnesota Twins) vs Ron Fairly (Los Angeles Dodgers) Mark McGwire (Oakland Athletics) vs John Mayberry (Kansas City Royals) Ernie Banks (Chicago Cubs) vs Rudy York (Detroit Tigers) Tony Perez (Cincinnati Reds) vs Lee May (Baltimore Orioles) Keith Hernandez (St. Louis Cardinals) vs Joe Adcock (Milwaukee Braves) Frank Chance (Chicago Cubs) vs Andres Galarraga (Montreal Expos) Mark Grace (Chicago Cubs) vs Cecil Cooper (Milwaukee Brewers) BRACKET THREE Eddie Murray (Baltimore Orioles) vs Bill Buckner (Los Angeles Dodgers) Dick Allen (Philadelphia Phillies) vs Wally Joyner (Kansas City Royals) Frank Thomas (Chicago White Sox) vs George Scott (Boston Red Sox) Roger Connor (New York Giants) vs Jim Bottomley (St. Louis Cardinals) Rafael Palmeiro (Texas Rangers) vs Joe Judge (Washington Senators) Orlando Cepeda (San Francisco Giants) vs Ted Kluszewski (Cincinnati Reds) Jim Thome (Cleveland Guardians) vs Hal Chase (New York Yankees) Boog Powell (Baltimore Orioles) vs Gil Hodges (Brooklyn Dodgers) BRACKET FOUR Hank Greenberg (Detroit Tigers) vs John Olerud (Toronto Blue Jays) Dan Brouthers (Buffalo Bisons) vs Bob Watson (Houston Astros) George Sisler (St. Louis Browns) vs Roy Sievers (Washington Senators) Cap Anson (Chicago Cubs) vs Fred Tenney (Boston Beaneaters) Norm Cash (Detroit Tigers) vs Kent Hrbek (Minnesota Twins) Will Clark (Texas Rangers) vs Jake Daubert (Brooklyn Dodgers) Mickey Vernon (Washington Senators) vs Ed Konetchy (St. Louis Cardinals) Fred McGriff (Atlanta Braves) vs Bill Terry (New York Giants)
  9. I think some of those guys were left off the team because they're slated to be starting games that Sunday before the All-Star Break. It makes sense, don't waste a spot on guys that would only be able to give you an inning at the most as a starter, who just pitched 2 days previous.
  10. Germany vs. Portugal with Portugal winning.
  11. Yeah, he did. He had great command and was throwing the ball pretty well. It was entertaining to watch. Hansen came in at the end to shut the door. He was throwing fastballs at 96-97 consistently.
  12. Holy s*** Riverside, I didn't know you had so many prospects to follow.
  13. It's something you'd learn in math if you were old enough. It means "approximately" or "about."
  14. 1-0 France! Henry is a f***ing tank.
  15. I still say Portugal wins it all.
  16. The only positive out of this was Tavarez. He pitched pretty well against this hot Marlins team. Seanez almost gave up another run or 2. The only thing I'm nervous about is that Tavarez has been better against the NL teams it seems. I hope this lasts when we switch back to the AL.
  17. Right. I hope this is the end of the Johnson experiment. But for some reason, I just feel sort of bad for him. Maybe because he's a nice guy and he has diabetes. I just really don't know.
  18. Welcome to the best Sox site that exists.

  20. I feel bad for feeling this way about Johnson, and I know it was only one start, but he's been like this all year. I don't have faith in him being the answer, and I don't want the experiment to continue. I'd rather have Pauley back up here, or give Snyder another chance. I feel bad because he's a nice guy and doesn't really deserve this, I just think he was thrown into the wrong role on the wrong team at the wrong time, which isn't his fault.
  21. ORS never fails. ORS, what channel is the game on for you? I don't know if it's blacked out on Extra Innings for you because you're in Florida. This isn't just a random question if you were wondering.
  22. I really don't understand why people were so quick to write Lowell off. He had one bad year.
  23. ESPN says: AL-Mauer, Ortiz, Jose Lopez, Jeter, A-Rod, V. Wells, Manny, Dye NL-McCann, Pujols, Utley, Reyes, Wright, Beltran, Bay, Soriano And they think it should be Glavine vs. J. Santana http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=2505104
  24. He's been here for awhile. Just disappeared after the sim leagues went away.
