Hahahah Joe West. I remember him very well. I think he screwed McCarty out of a home run at Tampa a few years ago. He was pretty decent yesterday though at Florida.
Why couldn't the Mets just have been smart and kept Kazmir? What the hell were they thinking trading him for Zambrano?
I'm also mad that we won't get to beat up Hendrickson this series...
Just a random question:
Since we're talking about umpires, wasn't McClullen (sp?) voted by the players as the best umpire that manages the plate? I forget if I heard that somewhere or what, but I never once saw someone second guess his calls. It was nice to watch when we played the Mets.
I still don't understand what the Mets saw in Victor Zambrano. If they just held onto Kazmir they wouldn't have had to worry about Soler this year... They'd be deadly.
Yeah, basically Lou Gehrig. There's no need for all the rounds.

I think some of those guys were left off the team because they're slated to be starting games that Sunday before the All-Star Break. It makes sense, don't waste a spot on guys that would only be able to give you an inning at the most as a starter, who just pitched 2 days previous.
Yeah, he did. He had great command and was throwing the ball pretty well. It was entertaining to watch. Hansen came in at the end to shut the door. He was throwing fastballs at 96-97 consistently.
The only positive out of this was Tavarez. He pitched pretty well against this hot Marlins team. Seanez almost gave up another run or 2. The only thing I'm nervous about is that Tavarez has been better against the NL teams it seems. I hope this lasts when we switch back to the AL.
Right. I hope this is the end of the Johnson experiment. But for some reason, I just feel sort of bad for him. Maybe because he's a nice guy and he has diabetes. I just really don't know.

You had one hell of a run, man.
I feel bad for feeling this way about Johnson, and I know it was only one start, but he's been like this all year. I don't have faith in him being the answer, and I don't want the experiment to continue. I'd rather have Pauley back up here, or give Snyder another chance. I feel bad because he's a nice guy and doesn't really deserve this, I just think he was thrown into the wrong role on the wrong team at the wrong time, which isn't his fault.
ORS never fails.
ORS, what channel is the game on for you? I don't know if it's blacked out on Extra Innings for you because you're in Florida. This isn't just a random question if you were wondering.
ESPN says:
AL-Mauer, Ortiz, Jose Lopez, Jeter, A-Rod, V. Wells, Manny, Dye
NL-McCann, Pujols, Utley, Reyes, Wright, Beltran, Bay, Soriano
And they think it should be Glavine vs. J. Santana
