  1. They still suck. You'll be majorly disappointed come the playoffs. And I'm going to quote your post, just to spite you.
  2. Oh yes, that ONE play that was probably 90% luck that he caught it in the first play shows his true skill. Granted, it was ridiculous, but him chasing down Michael Vick was more impressive. No, he's a defensive lineman. You can prove he's the best by watching tapes of his games, looking at his work ethic, his speed, his strength, and his overall ability at the position.
  3. Wow, looks like someone's a little obsessed with basketball ... Hockey's a great sport. I wish I followed it more closely. I always enjoy watching the Bruins, even if they're sucking. This year I'll start watching intensely and get to know it better.
  4. Numbers for linemen mean jack. I am a lineman, so I can explain to you why. Sacks wasn't even a statistical category until like 10-15 years ago if I'm correct. The line is the most commonly misunderstood aspect of football. As long as you have your man in position, and you control the gaps (when on defense), you are a successful lineman. If you beat the other lineman to the gap that you're assigned to, and you control your area, even if the play doesn't go to you, you still did a hell of a job. Watch Seymour control his area next time you're watching. No one does it better. He plugs the holes so the backs can't get through. That's why they're forced outside, and most commonly tackled for losses. Does Seymour get any credit for that? No. It's the most underappreciated and unrecognized thing, yet it's the most crucial when you're a lineman. You make plays without actually being a part of the tackle. I take Seymour over Freeney everyday. Peppers is just ridiculous. Best lineman in the NFL, IMO. I still watch when he chased down Vick and I'm amazed. Freeney's only useful for pass rush. That spin move is the worst thing a lineman can do. I don't understand why he's so successful with it, but when he is it works. The other half of the time, when it isn't, he'll find himself on his ass. When he spins he takes his concentration and bearings away from where the ball is. When analyzing and comparing lineman, you honestly can't use numbers. Freeney might be getting sacks because his other fellow lineman created that opportunity for him. It's why football is the best example of a team game. It takes all 11 men on the field to do their jobs, or you're screwed. Plain and simple.
  5. Hey, don't get me wrong, I love the Panthers. They've always been my NFC team. I have a powder blue Peppers jersey on me right now as I type. I love the team. I said predictions. You gotta have upsets in there somewhere. I know Keyshawn's a threat, but after watching what the Seahawks did to Smith last season, and Delhomme still not getting any other open wideouts, it's scary to think about what the Redskins D could do. And besides, that's only if they meet in the first round by chance. I don't know when they meet, but if they do meet, my money's on the Redskins. And I just meant that Bledsoe and Parcells, together, will keep TO in check and keep his antics to a minimum.
  6. Time to bring him back up. Bye Johnson.
  7. You better believe that the Jets will be making a push for the playoffs this year. They'll try to do it for Martin.
  8. Oh, I just thought it was a statement. But yes, I agree with you. It really doesn't make sense.
  9. It's called an upset. It's also the Washington f***ing Redskins. You do realize their secondary is quite possibly the best in the NFL (assuming Sean Taylor stays out of trouble), they added Antwaan Randle El AND Brandon Lloyd to go with Santana Moss, and oh yeah, that RB named Clinton Portis. The only question mark is Mark Brunell. If his age lets him stay one more year, this Redskin team could beat anybody. The Cowboys will make a trip to the superbowl this year. I don't care how much of a distraction TO is, Bledsoe and Parcells will keep him in check, and he will help the get to the superbowl. Crespo, I also agree with you in that that's the probable situation for the Pats. Obviously, I have some bias going into this, along with some hope. I just can't count out Belichick's mind. I can't. I will say though, it's going to be hard knowing we can't depend on our kicker as much anymore. If anyone boos Vinatieri when he returns, I'll be irate. He basically won us our first 2 superbowls. I don't see this like the Damon of the Red Sox. I still love you, Adam. I blame the Patriots management for losing that one.
  10. Next year Miami will be a real threat. I'll give Daunte a year to rebound, and THEN be effective.
  11. Acquire. I mixed up the c and the q.
  12. I would give Hansen a spot start, and call up Snyder. If Hansen does well in his start, let him have another. Use Snyder out of the bullpen maybe? He can't be much worse than Seanez. If Hansen struggles, put him back in the 'pen, and put Snyder in the rotation again. Give him a few starts. If he struggles, back down to AAA so he can work with the staff again, and THEN make a move. I'd love to keep Hansen if we can, and I really think we should only make a move if everything we already have fails.
  13. Smoltz possibly. Snyder's in AAA and they're working with him. Sorry, but hah, you got some grammar issues man. :dunno:
  14. Per Rotoworld... I suppose I could still wait for a better source, but the Angels would make this move considering how desperate they are to move Weaver. EDIT: Whoops, any mods mind helping me out with my typo in the title?
  15. Right, but if you're going to use gold gloves as a tool to show excellent defensive players, then even a "handful" of mess ups is too much.
  16. Hey, if Hansen thrives as a 5th starter, then we know Hansen's and Papelbon's place on this team in the future.
  17. He pitched brilliantly against the Yankees. I don't think he'd be a bust. EDIT: I see your point, but still. The AL East teams haven't seen him before, and he's a dominating pitcher. He pitched well against the Sox too when we went to play the Braves in Atlanta. He's been screwed out of so many wins this year because of his bullpen that it's ridiculous.
  18. Haha sorry to be picky, but that series is at home.
  19. Yes, this team won 12 straight, but that was with only one start from a 5 starter in Kyle Snyder. We got lucky, we would not have won 12 straight if it weren't for a day off or a rainout in there. We need a fifth starter. That streak ended because of our lack of a 5th starter. I don't care if this team won 12 straight, that doesn't give them an excuse to lose 3 straight a team they should beat up on, especially when our top 2 pitchers in Schill and Beckett were pitching 2 of them.
  20. What's that URL? It doesn't work.
  21. If we go into the Chicago White Sox series off of being swept in 4 games by the Rays, this pre-All Star Break stretch will suck majorly.
  22. At least Hansen struck out the side... Get your value increased Hansen, I'd love Smoltz.
  23. I'd love it if Theo was talking to Atlanta.
  24. This is so f***ing hard to watch. The way this team's been playing is leading me to believe that this game is already over.
  25. God help us. This game sucks. The top of the order is in the 8th, they better get it done right there.
