  1. I was wondering if they'd be booed when they took the field. They weren't booed, but they weren't cheered terribly enthusiastically.
  2. Is that 3 trades now that have gone on between SD and BOS for '06?
  3. Yeah, that comment about Willie Parker was retarded. I wouldn't be surprised to see Parker among the league leaders in TD scored now that Bettis is gone.
  4. The only thing that I'm interested in for this game is the crowd's reaction to when the Sox take the field.
  5. I'm thinking that the team I want to win the world series this year will be the team with David Wells on it, assuming they make the playoffs...which may not happen because the Padres won't win that division IMO.
  6. at the thought of our running game being better than Denver's. That Denver O-Line is something to be afraid of. They can bring in no name RBs and make them into stars. I doubt Mike Anderson does anything good when he's given the playing time over in Baltimore.
  7. Even the hockey program that BC has is amazing. My cousins play on the team and I almost went to Wisconsin last year to go to the game. They can spare tickets to me so I can get in for free. It's great I am surprised also that there isn't more support for BC. I mean, I suppose I see more BU or Harvard fans than BC fans but you obviously can't root for 2 or all 3. Alumni Stadium is a 5 minute walk from my house, so when the games are played, I can hear the crowd if I step outside my house. I beg to differ that the stadium sucks, but that's probably because I got to play a game for my high school team there last year, and it was quite the thrill.
  8. Hm, interesting point See Red. I didn't know that first fact that you stated. However, I am still not ready to say that Culpepper will be a difference maker. I know he's a great quarterback, I never said he was "garbage," but I'd like to see how he performs in his first few games before passing judgment. I may be one of the only Pats fans on here that's a bit more concerned than the others. You all say that Culpepper is the reason for the Pats to be worried. I say Ronnie Brown is the bigger reason.
  9. Point taken on the last point, which was a good one. I forgot how much of a flop Peerless Price was in Atlanta. And yes, you should assume Brady will be great. Nevermind, you don't have to assume. He IS great. I can't count the number of times (okay, obvious exaggeration ... don't bust my balls) he's led game winning drives in big situations (see: Superbowl XXXVI, the one at the top of my head - that idiot Madden was talking about kneeling it to go to overtime). He had 3 superbowl rings in a stretch of 4 years (5 now obviously). The way he handles the pressure and leads this team to victory is invaluable.
  10. I'm not saying he's garbage. I'm saying that we should wait to see if he can be the same QB when he's in an unfamiliar environment with new faces. Who knows if Chambers/Culpepper will be anything close to what Moss/Culpepper was. By the way, we're not just talking about "1 wide receiver" here. We're talking about Randy Moss. That man can catch anything in quadruple coverage. Kerry Collins sucks, and he did jack s*** with Moss last year. We saw what happened when the connection between Culpepper and Moss was disrupted with Moss's performance in Oakland. Who knows if Culpepper will still be effective? And yes, I'm definitely saying that Culpepper could have looked like one of the best QBs in the league because of Moss. Oh come on. Michael Vick completes passes to "other" wide receivers and runs a lot as well. That doesn't make him anything close to the best QB in the league.
  11. First let's see if Culpepper is anything without Moss.
  12. Oh my God. Prayers go out to Lester and his family.
  13. Sadly, in this day and age, if you're as talented as him, you only need to have a great work ethic for football. He obviously has a work ethic, it's just spread out very well. It's also focused on football because he knows that's what will make him great. Look at Vince Young. I remember when he was interviewed right after the Rose Bowl when he was still on the field I knew he was as dumb as a doorknob. He was still a 3rd rounder in the NFL draft. Work ethic in the classroom doesn't mean anything when it comes to being an elite NFL player, which is the argument.
  14. So if you had to choose between A-Rod and Jeter, you'd pick Jeter?
  15. Nick Green has something to say after filling in for A-Rod at 3B on the Sunday night game between the Sox and Yanks
  16. I think you can attribute some of his suckiness to the fact that he's playing third base. I don't care how comfortable he was at 3B last year. He's out of position. Look at the track records. Do you really think Jeter is the overall better SS on the Yankees?
  17. I'm not arguing why I think this team is done. I'm not disagreeing with you. I'm saying that he's sucking, which he is, but you always want to refute that point with something about how great players have sucked in their rookie years. I'm not saying he's a bust, I'm not saying he's going to be bad in the future. ALL I'm saying is that he's sucked, THIS SEASON. I'm not asking for a reason as to why this team is sucking, and I'm certainly not pointing a finger at only him.
  18. Yeah, I just learned that he's already the father of 2 children at age 18 He also has to work to get himself academically eligible before he can pick a college. He's deciding between the likes of Pitt, Miami, FSU, Nebraska...
  19. Maybe the guy is a bit disgruntled as a result of knownig his "guy" isn't the best shortstop on his own team? :dunno:
  20. That's all I wanted to hear. I am aware that great pitchers sucked, but the point is, RIGHT NOW, he's sucking.
  21. Well, the kid's work ethic is insane. In February of 2005, when he was a junior in high school and had just turned 16, he had a bench press of 330 pounds. His incline was 225 pounds. How many high school running backs can do that? Not to mention that Deion Sanders adopted the kid. He has future star written all over him.
  22. You have one name right, but the other's wrong. Barry Zito is a soft tossing lefty who would get s*** on at Fenway. All the other team needs to do is load their lineup with righties, pull the ball, smack the green monster, and voila, you have a nice display of horse s***. Zito would suck here, SUCK. The name you should have mentioned was Daisuke Matsuzaka. Besides, Zito's going to want 5 yr / 75 mill. Matsuzaka would be expensive, but we'd get a lot more bang for our buck than if we had signed Zito. If the Yanks want Zito, fine! We'll just take a s*** on him every time he comes to Fenway.
  23. I think he took the view that the Pirates screwed us out of Freddy Sanchez.
  24. The point is that you freak out if someone says he sucks. I'm not saying the season's over because Lester sucked, I'm saying that in certain outings, noticeably more recently, he's sucked. I know he's 22, I know he's had a bad back, but NONE of that changes the fact that he's been sucking! If someone says he sucks right now, that doesn't mean they've given up on him, it means they're making an observation. I'm not giving up on Lester, I feel like he could be great in the future. You just need to stop backing him up every single time that someone says he sucks. That's the fact right now. He sucks! I'm not saying he'll suck next year, I'm not saying he'll suck his entire career. What I'm saying is that rookie struggles, mixed in with bad backs, make a pitcher suck, am I right or am I wrong? Just answer this one question for me. From what you've seen out of Lester recently, has he sucked, or hasn't he? Please only give me a yes or a no.
  25. Did anyone watch that video of Noel Devine? It's the last post on page 1. You may have missed it because MC Hammer responded and started a new page on this thread kind of quickly after I posted that link.
