  1. Are you always this excited?
  2. Yeah...they'll last 4 games.
  3. Good. Now we need God on our side...Tavarez vs. Halladay is going to be a bumpy ride.
  4. Haha Paps is just a beast. Second K.
  5. Damn, Hill has a damn hot bat.
  6. K's Overbay! Papelbon is so fuking intense. :papelbon:
  7. Next year he is going to be the most hated guy in New York. You can bet your bottom dollar he's opting out, getting a monster deal, and saying f*** you to all the Yankee fans like he's wanted to. If I were him, I wouldn't have even give them half of the curtain calls that he did.
  8. What the f***? That f***s up my fantasy team on so many levels. f*** you, Phillies.
  9. I agree that you have to manufacture runs, but we weren't banking on a homer. If he doesn't send Drew, then he makes it back to first. At worst, we have runner on 1st with 1 down. Then assuming Crisp gets that hit, you have 1st and 2nd with Papi at the plate. They can't put the shift on in that situation, giving Ortiz more of a chance to plate a run. Then Manny comes up... Yeah, a lot of if's, but with the potential of things like that happening, you can't take risks like that. It was in too crucial of a situation to try making something happen.
  10. This SHOULD be a win. But, you never know with the Blue Jays. I wouldn't be surprised if Tomo Ohka looks like Cy Young today. MOJO TIME! http://www.skyvalley4u.com/Todayspic/coopers_hawk__blue_jay_2_2.jpg Obliterate them! (Sorry about the size of the pic...but it shows my anger)
  11. How do you know he'll get a "W" next time on the mound? The Yankees' lineup is downright dominant whether you like it or not. Mientkiewicz is their only glaring concern (offensively), but you can sacrifice that offensive piece for his defense when you have a lineup as dominant as theirs. I agree in that Matsuzaka pitched a great game. I just wish he didn't have to go up against a young stud (King Felix) or a Sox killer (Chacin) 2/3 times. I think it's pretty simple. We lost because Gustavo Chacin bends the Sox over and doesn't use lube when he pitches against them. The annoying thing is that Gonzo probably has that groundball to turn the DP that Lugo missed. It's annoying, but then again, the Sox won't score only one run too many times. I'll live with sacrificing a bit of defense for an offensive upgrade. Besides, you need offense out of your shortstop anyway (while at the same time holding his own defensively).
  12. I agree. I don't necessarily blame him for putting on the hit and run, I can understand it, but with Ortiz and Manny coming up it didn't make much sense. At least putting on the hit and run wasn't as dumb as a straight steal...
  13. I actually think the Reds were very high on Pena. But, when they were offered a Bronson Arroyo type pitcher (10 wins per year with around a 4.50 ERA in the AL East as a 5 starter translates to success in the NL Central), they were willing to part with him. It wasn't so much them giving up on him as it was their need for pitching and the ability to part with someone like Pena (they had Dunn/Griffey/Kearns patrolling the OF).
  14. Right you are Crunchy. Against certain starters (Chacin being one of them), I have just come to expect defeat. A win is a bonus. I just like to look at the positives in games like this... Pena hit a dinger (it was f***ing beastly too) Crisp got a couple hits after he felt Pena breathing down his neck Matsuzaka had 10 Ks; gave us a great chance to win by giving up only 2 runs while pitching 6 strong Like you said, Matsuzaka's outing against this Toronto lineup is a great outing. What's scary is that this is probably considered an off night for him. Imagine how dirty he can be when he's on... he should be allowed to have one shaky inning and assume that his team's going to pick him up. You'd figure that the Sox could have scored at least one more run to force the thing into extras...
  15. Sorry, it's hilarious when people have exchanges such as these.
  16. It was a hit and run, just unlucky.
  17. This sucks. My damn gamethread streak is over But seriously. What the f***? Why can't we beat the Blue Jays? I mean, yeah, Chacin is 5-0 against us but he also has a 4+ ERA against us...and we manage ONE RUN? Hell, 2 runs would have been enough to at least send this thing to extras...but ONE DAMN RUN?
  18. Wily Mo is 2 for 2...maybe because he's getting playing time. But, that's just my guess :dunno: Normally when you play more you get better. Fred? Adam? TedWilliams101?
  19. He fumbled in the playoffs and cost his team the postseason. Yeah, it's a stretch, but it works.
  20. Damn it. You beat me to it.
  21. And that is why you GIVE WILY MO AT BATS. I want adam123 and all the other haters to kiss Wily Mo's ass, right here, right now. I know it was only one homer, but my God, they wrote him off at the beginning of the season.
