  1. Well, last night was wonderful! Let's hope Schilling can continue his dominance against the weak-hitting Angels, and that the bats' hotness can carry over from last night into today. Carrasco can be a pest from time to time, but the Sox have to be patient and make him work. Let's get 'er done! Go Sox! Game Info: Date: Saturday, April 14th, 2007 Teams: Anaheim Angels (6-5) @ Boston Red Sox (5-4) First Pitch: 3:55pm EDT Venue: Fenway Park, Boston, Massachusetts TV: FOX Starting Pitchers: http://i.a.cnn.net/si/images/baseball/mlb/players/5165.jpghttp://bellsouthpwp.net/c/h/chinigor/TALKSOX/VS.GIFhttp://i.a.cnn.net/si/images/baseball/mlb/players/4267.jpg http://boston.redsox.mlb.com/mlb/images/team_logos/50x50/ana.gif#48 Hector Carrasco (0-0, 1.80) http://boston.redsox.mlb.com/mlb/images/team_logos/50x50/bos.gif#38 Curt Schilling (1-1, 4.91) Mojo of the day: http://unitedstates.fm/pics/uncle-sam%20commiessm.jpg SOME UNCLE SAM MOJO FOR SCHILL! GO GET 'EM SOX!
  2. Oh, no question. I said the same thing in another thread, I think. Besides, the Yankees always get off to a slow start so if they're going to lose games in April anyway, their starters might as well get injured now and lose with other scrubs out there.
  3. I was being sarcastic. But I was letting out a little more frustration about the end of last season too.
  4. You don't even know what it's like to have rotation injuries
  5. I've never understood the dislike for Drew. He played a full year last year and put up 20 HR 100 RBI. I loved the signing. I understood everyone's displeasure with the amount, though. If this guy stays healthy, which I think he should (the Sox are giving him an off-day every 10ish days now I guess...), he'll be a force in the order. His talent was never in question, just his health. He's a tremendous upgrade over Nixon.
  6. I'd rather just put WMP in CF. He's more comfortable there and gets better jumps. For the record, your grammar and punctuation isn't annoying because you're articulate and I understand what you're saying. Also, you spell correctly. People like adam123 annoy me because they can do no such things. Also...kudos on using fubar. It worked nicely
  7. That's what I figured. I was hoping you'd be desperate enough to take Kazmir and Adrian Gonzalez to give me Pujols. Oh well. It was worth a shot. My pitching is good enough to win me categories, but you need more studs because you're kind of depleted in the pitching department I guess.
  8. I don't get notes because I disabled fantasy updates to my email. They only cause massive amounts of clutter. Get un-lazy and re-type it!
  9. Obviously, the leash on Tavarez is getting even shorter after just one start. I would rather see Hansack up here with the big club anyway. At least he pounds the strike zone and makes the batters work. When Tavarez loses his command, it gets very, very bad. His WHIP isn't exactly the most encouraging thing, and by the 5th inning he's up to around 85-90 pitches and can't go for the sixth. He does the bare minimum to become eligible for the W (God granting us a lead by the fifth..) and then has to leave the game. I wouldn't mind Tavarez so much if he could eat innings, but he can't even do that.
  10. Good. One less start from Tavarez = increase in chance of winning a game. EDIT: Nevermind, read it wrong. At least his start gets pushed back a bit.
  11. Again, I am willing to work out a trade with anyone. From now on, if I receive a trade offer from you I will counter it and we can work on it. If I reject it, I'll let you know I'm not interested in working out a deal with the players on your team. By the way, this doesn't mean that if I simply rejected one of your offers before, that I'm not interested. Anyone on my team is expendable. Ryan Howard will go for a great SS/3B/SP or a combo of very dependable players at those positions.
  12. Ok fine. I'll be very frank with you. Whether you like it or not, Wily Mo has done much better than Crisp has in their time with Boston.
  13. Offer sent.
  14. How can there be a picture of him saying talksox.com? Pictures stay still.
  15. Last night was awesome. I went as well, and it was a great, great time despite the loss. Matsuzaka pitched a nice game, and covered first beautifully on that double play to end the 7th. There was really nothing that the Sox could have done about King Felix. He was just absolutely DEALING. I would have almost rather seen him get the no-no and witness something very rare. As gross as the offense looked last night, I don't think any lineup had a chance. A stud like Felix Hernandez on eight days rest just isn't the ideal matchup for anyone. That being said, I expect that the Sox will be finding their groove and showing us what to expect in the next couple weeks.
  16. ...he'll still get a great contract... BC has easily been one of the top 5 schools to play hockey at. It's his life. He liked college life, so he stuck through his four years. Or maybe he had no intention of going pro. Perhaps he wanted to actually get a college education? I know quite a few of that teams' members have no intention of going pro because I know them. My cousins are two of them.
  17. It's a nice place. I have cousins who live in Walpole, which borders Norwood. It's quiet, nice, relaxing and convenient. Pretty cheap, too (good value all around...food, stores, etc.)
  18. the Mojo is interrupted! Baseball Gods, please take out your anger on the Yankees today. Seriously though, Bonser vs. Pettite could be fun to watch.
  19. You look for the positives in any weak team when they're playing the Sox. You even talked positively about Odalis f***ing Perez. Anyway, just win. Please.
  20. Well, didn't they play their home games everywhere but at home?
  21. Trust me, I'm not complaining. I really don't think they'd change the night game anyway. If they were to move Thursday's game to Wednesday, they'd probably make that the day game. ESPN would be pretty upset if Matsuzaka's start got shifted around. But holy s***, I'm seeing Matsuzaka vs. King Felix? That's like...f***ing amazing....
