  1. I retract my earlier statement. This lineup sucks. Once you get past Varitek there's no hope. Hinske, Cora, and Tavarez will kill whatever we have going.
  2. Drew with another hit
  3. What's JT's pitch count at? It seems like he throws at least 20-25 pitches EVERY inning. Perhaps (and hopefully) this is his last start for the Sox. Did I read correctly somewhere that Lester may be pitching on Friday? Runs please.
  4. Uh wow. Lugo really butchered that at bat. He got a strike right over the inside part of the plate...that's the pitch he should have turned on. Annnnnnnnnnd we get no runs. Lugo, groundout RBIs occur only if there are LESS than 2 outs.
  5. Hahahahahaha that was priceless. Pretty bad for the D-Backs too. With 2 outs in a jam you have to get the pitcher out. C'MON LUGO!
  6. Yeah, it's my new mojo series. I've listened pretty much to all of them and they don't get boring.
  7. f***. YOU GUYS GOT DAN MAHONEY? HE WAS ON MY f***ING BASEBALL TEAM AT BB&N BEFORE HE LEFT AND WENT TO CUSHING ACADEMY. THAT'S SO DAMN COOL. LOL! Haha, when I was in middle school we were on the same football team, and he handed me my first hard hit ever. Pretty cool. Kid's a f***ing animal. His fastball tops out at 91 and he's a hard worker. He'll do what he's told to become the best that he can be, and I really do think he can be something. I've seen him first hand. He was ranked by Baseball America as the second best high schooler in MA, but he should have been first (I've faced the guy they ranked number one and I've faced Mahoney...Mahoney makes kids look absolutely silly...the other kid can be quite hittable). During spring training he trains with us. Haha at the beginning of last year he pitched against us and threw 6 innings of shutout ball. Cushing was winning like 10-0 but we scored 11 runs in the 7th after they took him out and we won In all seriousness though, he probably won't sign. He wanted to go higher than he did and he's committed to UConn if he decides not to sign, which is probably his most likely destination at this point. Kind of cool to see him get drafted though
  8. Hahaah, I remember the OBT. Not that I frequented it or anything... Maybe I have a messed up memory of Orlando. I remember it being fairly big but there aren't any terribly tall buildings...or are there? I forget.
  9. We all know there are tons of Red Sox fans supporting our Sox in Arizona this weekend...let's hope none of them are as obnoxious as: Mr. Over-Zealous Foul Ball Catcher! http://www.nndb.com/people/979/000026901/steve-bartman.jpg Today we salute you, Mr. Over-Zealous Foul Ball Catcher. Mr. Over-Zealous Foul Ball Caaaaatcher! You're nowhere close to that foul ball heading for the bleachers, who cares? You're going for it. That ball's MIIIIIIIINE! Hot dog vendors, old ladies, infants... You mow them over like a diesel-powered combine. YEAAAAHHHHH!!!!! Ashamed of your souvenir fervor? Hardly. You scratch and gouge your way to the ball like a blood-thirsty wolverine. You're a feisty rodent. So crack open an ice-cold Bud Light, Mr. Bully of the Bleachers. Because why pay for a souvenir when you can fight for one? Mr. Over-Zealous Foul Ball Caaaatcherrrrrrr.
  10. You'd have to move a long way... I don't think Orlando would satisfy your expectations of a city (considering you seem to love big ones like New York).
  11. In fairness to Gom, he's been consistent in his views of all rookies. It seems like he was the only Yankee fan on this board who wasn't sold on Phil Hughes.
  12. Wait, so is the game on FOX? Because that would explain it. Are you suggesting that it's not on YES?
  13. ...is there a reason I can't see this game on MLB.tv? I shouldn't be blacked out and I'm pretty sure it's not nationally televised..
  14. Sit down Johnny boy.
  15. Eh, to each his own. Doesn't matter. Tonight could be a big lift for him. Hopefully he can use the familiar pitchers and ballparks to his advantage and have it carry over to when interleague play is over. We need him to wield a hot bat...that much we can agree on. ORS, I'll help with the crow feeding. But anyway, keep on truckin' with your mojo! Do you have any suggestions for the next lucky "Real Man of Genius" ?
  16. It would be nice if they said a simple "Thanks." I liked the signing (yeah, bloated contract, but that was the market...) and haven't stopped liking it. Patience is a virtue with new players. Now, I'm not saying that I think he'll take off from here, but it was very promising.
  17. Manny got hit in the wrist and was down for a couple of minutes pointing to it. I thought he broke it, but he got up and wanted to run the bases until Drew hit the dinger.
  18. God help us. I had a major heart palpatation. I thought Manny broke his wrist. I know it wasn't intentional (since the pitch was supposed to drop), but after Lugo getting thrown behind, anyone think that we may see some retaliation in the type of game we have? It's already pretty out of reachhfklgnhylaqketjhbeladfngoruewag!~!!!!!!!! DREW!!!! YEAH JD DREW!!! Hope he's getting hot. His bat would be huge.
  19. 'Atta boy JD. Make the haters say "THANK YOU!" Don't give up on this guy. That was also kind of a bomb.
  20. I'd rather not. I'd just like to see the infielders throw the ball right to his chest
  21. Drew, seriously. Get a hit next time. These dinky tappers near the plate aren't doing anything for me.
