  1. You're right. We could debate it for months... Hopefully the Yanks miss the playoffs altogether and debate is all we have to go on
  2. Eh, memory tells me that no matter how well the A's do against the Sox in the regular season, it seems to be a near impossibility for them to beat the Sox in the post-season. Right now, the Sox wouldn't be able to beat the Yankees in a 7-game series. I agree with you on that. Before people jump on me...notice the two key words: right now.
  3. Exactly. Dice-K has the stuff and talent to be a dominant pitcher in the bigs some day. But right now, he needs to learn how to effectively implement all of his talent in order for him to reach his potential. Right now, he's going through the rough stages of learning how to pitch here...which is why I get irritated with people already labeling him a disappointment. Has he lived up to expectations? Not right now. Will he? He definitely can.
  4. Which is why I said what I said. He's nothing more than a very talented pitcher trying to learn how to pitch in this new and more talented league. There's no saying he will, but all signs point to the fact that he should. I'm not going to get ahead of myself and proclaim him the next ace of the staff, but he has the talent to become one. Right now, he needs to learn how to effectively use it.
  5. I really wish I knew as much about young guns as you guys seem to...
  6. Maybe not, but it's indicative of his current status as a major league pitcher. He's a fine pitcher, or at least he will be, but right now he's nothing more than a very talented pitcher learning how to pitch in the bigs.
  7. Have you been watching his starts? This post highly suggests you haven't. He hasn't been amazing this year. He's been average. There's no amazing year to continue if it wasn't there already.
  8. Look on the previous page.
  9. Pretty bold statement coming from the man that counted his own team out in May I wasn't bitching about the schedule. My tone was angry because of our flat play and we have to play a hot team, and I'm concerned that you'll gain a game. I'm not bitching about the schedule my friend. Of course, I will bitch about the crazy amount of traveling we have to do. Just look at the schedule...it's f***ing ludicrous. (I reserve the right to bitch about this. Take a look and tell me that it's not ridiculous.)
  10. Has this been stated already or are you saying this in all likelihood?
  11. ANYWAY...tomorrow. Who gets the rest? Ortiz, Lowell, or Youk? I personally would rather see Youk get the day off with Papi at 1B because I don't think he's gotten a day off in a bit. I'm sure we'll see each one on the bench since there are 3 games... It sucks because these 3 players happen to be 3 of the teams' best hitters at the moment.
  12. ...that was the point, I'm sure. If he's dead he doesn't need a Wii. Metro Cowboy doesn't need Fred's approval.
  13. Well, you should be winning a lot more games now that we're going into interleague play. You have the f***ing Pittsburgh Pirates this weekend...we have the hot D-Backs. Granted, both of our teams should give it to the NL without lube no matter who we play...but I sincerely hope that the Sox' offense meets them in Arizona this time.
  14. I mean, the guy's being unreasonable. He's not worth what he wants...he's just not. He's getting what? A (roughly) $7M raise from last season? Then if he puts up those numbers again, he may make even more... Look, I'm all for paying the man, but he's not worth more than Champ Bailey. We would have won it last year if we budged for Branch, but if we budged for Branch we wouldn't have been able to make half of the moves we made this off-season. Make no mistake about it, this team will contend for a few years past 2007.
  15. Fred...did that really happen? Haha, did you get "honest injun" from Adventures of Huckleberry Finn?
  16. You know what would be sick? If there was just a mass rush onto the field of like 50 fans. It would be awesome because 90% of them, if not more, are probably guaranteed to get away with it.
  17. Hahaha, A-Rod. f*** him. That was pretty clutch though. I hope he opts out and rightfully says "f*** you!" to Yankees fans.
  18. Like ORS said, if Lugo doesn't start making an impact, things like this are going to haunt him. He can't be out there f***ing up perfect games for the hero of the '04 playoffs and expect not to be bothered.
  19. I wonder if the guys at Dodger Blues get together and randomly decide to take a visit over here. They come in bunches. I'll wait a little longer than 2 months into the season before I get on Drew's or Lugo's back. Some people's impatience is laughable.
  20. Yeah...about that...lol. Anyway, in all seriousness... IT'S TWO MONTHS INTO THE SEASON. STOP s***ing YOUR PANTS.
  21. Sox win. Let's go to Arizona and start raping NL teams. Great job today Curt.
