    Two moments I especially liked in last night's game: 1) Zack Kelly of course did an amazing job. But that 3-2 pitch to Torres for the first out was bonkers. Torres has got to be looking fastball all the way, and Kelly/Wong dial up a sweeper way the heck out of the zone to punch his ticket. That took some balls. 2) Wong has played a bit like 2004 postseason Johnny Damon this year: no smiles until the game is won, and probably not then either. Stoic. So to see him fired up after his big triple was really exciting. Loved that moment.

    I'm just "watching" on Gameday (animated boxscore, pretty much), but it looks like Ref and Cooper went down to not-so-fast fastballs down the chute. That's disappointing. EDIT: Never mind, those fastballs had some gas.

    The tail on that lineup is most of the line-up. Probably means a reverse-lock 12-3 victory. Short should really be playing short, just for aesthetic purposes. The most impressive thing about the win yesterday is that they did it with the regular home jerseys. I wonder what their regular jerseys vs. City Connect jerseys record is at home this year.

    Abreu drawing 3 walks today is another instance of baseball being weird. Yoshi getting hot would be a really nice development.

    And Kutter gets his first win despite the 0.66 ERA. Baseball is weird.

    Crawford's WHIP was nothing to write home about, but 6 IP with 1 run is acceptable every day all season long.

    He should know that non-solo homers, while technically allowed, are strongly discouraged on the 2024 Red Sox.

    Nice one! This lineup, on paper, really is all tail. Which probably means they're going to score 13. Aaaaaand there's the first one already.

    I hear you, but not everyone is Ichiro. It's not working for Yoshida. I don't get to actually watch a ton of games, but I've seen him pull off and pop it up or hit a weak grounder so so many times.

    I don't understand how a batting coach hasn't taken Yoshida behind a shed somewhere and forcefully explained to him that pulling off early to the 1B side is killing his swing.

    Boyle has some nice stuff when he can harness it. He or Langeliers seem to be relying too much on the heat. He has people screwed up when he throws offspeed. But that straight heat at 97 is only working when it's painted or playing off the slow stuff. I know, Pitching 101.
