Also, I want this to start now because I want people to have more time to vote for this. I put too much time into making sure I picked on time and writing up an explanation as to why my team would win this matchup that I don't want it done by people who are rushed.
-
I'd be fine with it too, as I really don't think it'd be worth it to go back and forth for the next 2 days Best of luck to you sir.

In your analysis of my O vs. your D, I'd just like to set a few things straight. You said Manning cannot throw the ball deep very well, I think most people would agree on that - I do. I don't really intend on him being the guy that's going to throw the ball 30-40 yards downfield. He'll take his shots when he can when he's got Crabtree or Meachem in one on one, but other than that it's going to be more of a ball control/checkdown offense, which I think will be very successful against your aggressive defense. I think I'll be able to eat up on the slants, crossing routes, hooks, screens, and hitches in order to beat your blitz. But my big plays are going to be coming from behind the line of scrimmage and within 0-7 yards of the line of scrimmage. My big play guys (Sproles, Edelman, Meachem) are all quick and slippery, and I think I can generate a lot of big plays after catches from these guys with their speed, explosiveness and slipperiness.

When YH213 runs: I think my team will have an advantage here because of the versatility of my backfield. While Y228 has one of the best linebacking cores, if not the best in the league, I feel that my offensive line is good enough to make holes for my guys to get to the second level, where I don't feel his defense is very good in the run game. Ware and Harrison are pass rushing linebackers, and my strengths on my offensive line is to the outside (especially to the left). Sproles is my 3rd and long "Kevin Faulk" type of back, and I think he will see a lot of success running draw plays (and screens) when Y228 blitzes. I have a power back in McClain who will be able to not only lead block for Greene, but is a very good back in his own right and has been know to pick up good yardage. I think my running game is tailor-made to run wild on this defense, especially when they decide to blitz. Advantage YH213 When Y228 runs: While Y228 has a list of talented backs, none of them have ever been able to prove that they're a full time back in the NFL yet. Ruud and AJ Hawk are two of the best run stopping middle linebackers in the NFL with their speed and athleticism. Bradshaw and Bush won't be able to get to the outside, especially with a good guy like Manny Lawson setting the edge. I also probably have most one of the sure tacklers in the NFL in Polamalu back there to help deal with the run. While Y228 has a great line, I don't think they'll be able to provide enough holes inside to keep my defense honest. I'll be able to focus on the outside runs and keep the middle clogged up with Wilfork. Advantage YH213 When YH213 passes: Super Bowl winning QB Eli Manning should have a tough time here. Although I have the running game to keep Y228's defense honest, his blitzing is going to prove way too much for my squad to handle here, so I will have to go to short/medium routes and screen passes out of the backfield and to my wide receivers. Where you see Manning get in trouble is when he tries to force the ball where he cannot, but Belichick has the playbook to make Manning successful against this blitzing defense. Crabtree, Sims-Walker, and Moeaki are all bigger, possession type targets who will get their yards with medium timing routes on the sidelines, while I have the smaller guys like Walter and Edelman to go across the middle and hit the under checkdown type of routes. While Y228 has a solid secondary, I don't think it's going to be enough to cover my passing attack with the way I plan to play offense. Heavy running, with quick passes and play action is really going to keep them honest and keep them off of my receivers enough to be successful here. Advantage YH213 When Y228 passes: Rodgers is a stud, he's got four very talented receivers to throw to. Although I feel I have a very talented secondary who should be able to key in on the pass because of a weaker running game from Y228, I think his talent outweighs mine. Since I expect them to be a pass heavy team, I will have to rely on Hali getting to the quarterback. In keeping their run game in check, I will have to focus on the pass a lot. Flowers and Talib are really talented, but using Polamalu as my roamer/playmaker, I expect to keep him in the box a lot to keep their running game in check and keep the big and quick Cooley underwraps. If I can get to Rodgers I can have success here, but if I can't he's going to pick my defense apart at the second level. Advantage Y228 Special Teams: Both teams have good punters and kickers, so I can see it being a wash there, but I think where I excel is my versatility in the return game. Having Sproles, Meachem, and Edelman gives me three different guys I can use to not only return kicks and punts, but to make plays. But, Y228 has both Washington, who has proven a viable kick returner, and Bush, a great punt returner, he can make those plays in return as well. Wash Overall, I think my team will win this because of one thing; coaching and scheming. Although I think many people would argue that Y228's team has more talent than mine, I think I have the perfect range of guys to make Belichick's system works. I have a bunch of different types of players on offense and I expect to do a good job in beating Y228's blitz with my draw plays and quick hits. I think my defense is good enough to not allow too many points in this matchup. My Winner: YH213 - 24, Y228 - 21

I guess I'd be in as well in keeping with my theme of doing these things. Even though my team was horrendous last time we did a baseball one
-
I said this team as a whole would be better than they were before they got rid of Moss. That's a fact. If you can't see we're a better team after routing both the Steelers and the Jets on national TV, then you're bat s*** crazy, even moreso than I originally thought.
-
45 vs the "best defense in the NFL" Where you at, Emmz?
-
Except when SCM rolls around.
-
What? I've been waiting for a while to bring this up, but I think it's finally time. If there's any doubt we're worse off without Moss, you're officially nuts.

jbay has a really good squad, and I really don't think I need to explain why his beats youker. I think I had jbay in my top 3 teams in my rankings but I'm not sure, and I really don't feel like justifying this very much. -jbay has plenty of playmakers on offense. Charles, McCoy, Wallace, and Austin are all huge playmakers, and he's got one hell of an offensive line. -although I don't like his d-line, jbay has a pretty good 3-4 defense -y20 would put up a lot of yards rushing, but when it comes down to it, Cutler is not good enough to keep jbay's good secondary honest
-
While I really don't like YRTB's offense, his defense is one of the best here. He's got playmakers at all the positions he needs them, and his secondary is really underrated.
-
I think you have to take age into account somewhat when you take into account the roles you expect them to play. IE CD is having LT as his second running back, that's a great role for a guy his age with as many miles on his body. I don't think it's very prudent, especially considering that this is a 3 year thing, to have guys on the downside of your thing as the best playmakers on your defense.

I LOVE WB's offense. It might be my favorite (besides mine of course) and the best in this league. It's not all around the most talented, but he has guys who do what they do. He has a great RB tandem, and it's even better with the fact that he has a great offensive line, and that those two backs are both used to tandems and know how they work. He's got his receivers with defined roles, Johnson is his go to guy, Jackson is a solid deep/possession guy, Bess is one of the most underrated slot/under guys in the league, and Breaston is a great back-end complement. He has Gresham at the TE spot mostly for his receiving, he's not a great blocker, but his line is good enough where they'll protect Roethlisberger. I think WB's offense will have a huge day because I honestly don't think Flynn will get the necessary pass rush to stop the offense, plain and simple, WB takes it.
-
I love CD's offense here. While in New York LT has been awesome in more of a limited 10-15 carries a game role, and I think Jackson will greatly benefit from having to take less carries. Good deep threat in Henderson and a big time playmaker in Harvin, plus a solid possession guy in Amendola, and that isn't even mentioning Edwards and Fitzgerald, who are probably CD's two most talented route runners. Keeping LT and Jackson fresh are going to be key to keep the running game going as Divinity's DL is really talented. I think CD's most success in the running game will be to the outside in this matchup, and he's got pretty good edge linemen to make that happen. Lutui and Kemauto (or however you spell it) are both premier athletes who can get out there and make their crack blocks and set the edge. That being said, I'm not a big fan of Divinity's offense. It seems like too much of a hodgepodge of players to me. It seems like he just picked the most talented guys not taking into account how they will fit together. I really don't see any defined roles from anyone on there with the exception of the QB. CD is going to have a nice 3-4 attack to stop Jones-Drew and Turner, and Divinity is going to need to depend on going over the top against the weakest part of CD's team - his secondary. Despite both defenses being top notch, I feel this will come down to offenses production, and I like CD's better.

When I saw CalvnHobs6 make this thread, I thought it was from like 2005 and he had made a prediction and bumped it up Lowrie played fairly well in his short time last season. Now that he's finally healthy I really think it's only fair he gets a shot to do something.

QB: Eli Manning HB: Shonn Greene (3rd and short/medium back) HB2/FB: LeRon McClain HB3: Darren Sproles (3rd and long back) WR: Michael Crabtree WR: Mike Sims-Walker WR: Kevin Walter WR: Robert Meachem WR: Julian Edelman TE: Tony Moeaki RT: Russell Okung RG: Davin Joseph C: Jeff Faine LG: Kris Dielman LT: Jason Peters DE: Cullen Jenkins DE: Robert Geathers DT:Vince Wilfork OLB: Tamba Hali OLB: Manny Lawson ILB: AJ Hawk ILB: Barrett Ruud CB: Brandon Flowers CB: Aqib Talib FS: Taylor Mays SS: Troy Polamalu K: Matt Prater P: Darren Colquit KR: Darren Sproles PR: Julian Edelman Coach: Bill Belchick BU1: Colt McCoy, QB I think i have the most underrated offense in this entire thing. I have a Super Bowl winning quarterback, the most versatile backfield, and a young up and coming receiver corps. Shonn Green will get the majority of the carries, with McClain coming in taking fullback duties and short yardage carries and Sproles coming in for third and longs. I have my "white slot possession" guy, Crabtree and Sims Walker are legit ones and will benefit from playing with Manning as opposed to their own QBs. I have Meachem as my playmaker off of screen passes and trick plays, and Edelman so I can run a little wildcat if I want. Building this team, I wanted versatility offensively, and talent defensively. I also think I have by far the best defense in this entire scheme. Hali and Lawson are good edge guys, and I got two of the better MLBs in the NFL with their speed and athleticism in Hawk and Ruud. My secondary is probably the best in the league as well. Because of their youth and where they play, not many people know who Talib and Flowers are, and let me tell you, they can f***ing play. ST wise, I have 3 guys who can return punts in Edelman, Sproles and Meachem, and they're all pretty elite at what they do. Prater is a good and accurate kicker and Colquitt is a very good punter as well.

6th? Really? Ital first?????
-
2nd best defense? Really, I think you're a fringe top 5 defense. No higher than 4th, no lower than 6th defensively. Also, I wouldn't say your O-Line is "stacked". It's good, one of the best, but definitely not "stacked". Still though, I think you have one of the better teams, you're in the upper half of my rankings too.

Two big fat thumbs up to this post.

I agree, but I think it'd be the most logical move, since I think Griffin is way too explosive and athletic. IMO Griffin would just absolutely tear his ass up with his patented spin moves. Bogut is a very good paint defender, but I just don't think he's got it in him to stop Griffin. I personally think it'd make more sense to match up the athleticism and leaping ability of Smith to try to negate some of what Griffin is going to do vertically.
-
For me, this comes down to one thing: size. I think that both teams have great backcourts. Rondo/Wade/Gay and Collison/Ginobili/Wade pretty much even each other out. Both of them will get their points in transition and get to the basket in the halfcourt offense pretty effectively, especially since both teams have a big that has a solid inside/outside presence to draw a bigger guy away from the basket. In this case, I think we would see Smith playing defense on Griffin. Since Griffin is so explosive and athletic it makes more sense to take the slower Bogut off of him, but that in itself creates a huge mismatch. Nowitzki's inside/outside ability is way too much for him to handle IMO. I think we will always see a mismatch here in Ital's favor. When the benches are in and the game slows down a bit, Ital is going to dominate the boards. Hickson is a natural PF who will be playing out of position, Hibbert and Aldrich both have quite a few inches on him, Odom is a bigger player than Millsap is (if only marginally), and I really don't think that Wes Johnson would have many issues eating up Casspi on the boards. If we were just looking at starting fives, I would have to give WB the not, but I think that Ital built the more well rounded squad here. His huge front court will give him the advantage. Although WB has the better bench offensively, I don't think he has enough weapons to draw Ital's bigs away from the hoop, and Harris' and Turner's best offensive abilities are their slashing to the hoop. Ital via submission (rebounding, defense)

I just got sick of it, and it's a retarded way to rate a team. That's like saying the Heat are better than the Celtics because they have 3 of the best players in the league. The Celtics are obviously a better team, but looking @ it by position you're led to believe the Heat are better. It's just a retarded way to judge a team, and such a cop out for actually thinking about it.
