    Well if we can't resign Vartiek, I say we have no other alternatve then to give it to Shoppach for the year. I hope Papa Jack can fix his swing, like he should be doing with Youkillis. Shoppach can play great defense, call a good game, and can hit the ball well. I don't expect him to strike out every 3rd abat again, because his track record doesn't show anything that would make me believe it would extend. He's going to be a .260/.360/.425 number kind of guy.

    We have to bring Pedro and Vartiek back. Pedro still is a top ten pitcher in the game, and I guartnee he will have another great year. He's no longer a 100 + pitcher anymore, but he's a 7 inning guy. I hope we bring him back.

    Eh let him go, he won't fit into that clubhouse. He'll likely kill chemstry, and prevent them from getting a pitures.

    Lidge is the best closer in baseball right now. He set the NL strikeout record, for a closer, and he only closed for half the year. He's got a blazing fastball, and terrfic offspeed stuff.

    Leaders are born, and Shoppach was a born leader. Even the vetereans of AAA ball trust him.

    which are your favorite prospects?

    I'd rather see the Sox offer Caberra arbitration to about 6 mil a year, then let Hanley take over. I don't see why were offering Vartiek a long term deal, when we have Kelly Shoppach in the back stop to take over. Maybe a two year contract to Vartiek, but Shoppach is a great leader, who I think can take over.

    I can't crtitize a manager unless they lose, I can look at Francona's mistakes as well Not pulling Schilling (Game 1) Putting Wake with the wind at his back (Game 1) Not pinch running for anyone on base with Roberts in the 9th (Game 1) Not really any glaring errors (Game 2) We were just killed in game 3 (Game 3) Leaving Petey in too long (Game 5) As you can see Francona did a pretty good job after game 3. Our batters couldn't hit so save their lives in Game 2, and no one could miss a bat in game 3, so you can't fault Francona. He used the bullpen like a genius would afterwards. Good move by Francona in this game improving the defense with a 5 run lead.
