  1. Gerut would have been a better choice than Teixeira.
  2. Baldelli, maybe, but Berroa was actually competent with the glove in 2003, which would negate any defensive argument.
  3. Contreras had a 3.30 ERA with the Yankees one year. Bonilla had one rough year with the Mets, and was pretty good his last two and a helf. Weaver succeeded his first half year with the Yankees.
  4. He'll be up there, eventually. He's only 25. Maybe not, his OPS is .745 with a .333 batting average. He doesn't walk a whole lot either.
  5. Sorry, but watching the pitcher bat with RISP, drives me insane.
  6. Riverside annoits another person clutch, the "clutch" person fails miserably.
  7. I think if they brought him in during a save situation, he'd be OK.
  8. He's taking it on the chin again. 3 IP 5 H 4 ER 1 BB
  9. Forgive me, but I will remain skeptical of whether Coco Crisp will ever actually get "hot." I do agree, the timing is a bit weird.
  10. HUSTLE GRIT DETERIMINATION LKAAOSF)J_SAFNIO OLLOLOL!!!
  11. Coco Crisp has been absolutely terrific this year in CF. .594. That is totally unacceptable. Even for a defensive ace.
  12. He also said Omar Vizquel saves 100 runs a year. If that were true, he'd be the most valuable player in baseball, every year.
  13. Renteria - 5/5 1 HR 2 RBI's.
  14. I wish.
  15. Please don't lie. With RISP, his batting line is .292/.408/.511/.919. You can look this up. Actually, the Cardinals won the 2000 NLDS with Drew in RF. They also won the 2002 NLDS with him in RF, as well. In 2001, they ran into the Diamondbacks with Schilling and Johnson. In 2002, they ran into the Giants with Schmidt, Rueter, and Ortiz. In 2004, they ran into the Astros with Oswalt, Pettitte, and Clemens Can't say I fault him that much. In that situation*, he was passionate, correct? *May be incorrect
  16. At least he was passionate about making an out? He was showing soul, right? The only time, I saw LaRoche hit a HR was in Game Four against the Astros. The Braves won 6-5, because of....? Oh, s***. BRAVES 9TH: SPRINGER REPLACED PALMEIRO (PITCHING); Perez struck out; Thomas struck out; Furcal was hit by a pitch; Furcal stole second; Drew singled to center [Furcal scored]; Drew stole second; Giles struck out; 1 R, 1 H, 0 E, 1 LOB. Braves 6, Astros 5.
  17. All that being said, I would not have inked J.D. Drew to that long term deal. He's a very talented player, but only one projection at the beginning of the season had him hitting 20 HR's. All of his HR's at Dodger Stadium were to right-center, which is the deepest part of Fenway Park. That should have been a big f***ing red flag to Epstein and the front office.
