  1. Why was I kicked out of the league? I didn't do anything wrong.
  2. Umm I don't know what qualifications I am missing but I still want to be in this league.
  3. I'd like to get in if I can, if I can't that's ok too.
  4. I know its late, but I just found out I won a few days ago and I already recieved my prize. Thanks so much!
  5. I think he's under contract til 2008... lets just ride it out...
  6. Umm, a prospect for a proven player sounds good to me.
  7. I'll take it! The Red Sox might not be a lineup of All-Stars like the Yankees, but they have roleplayers who will each contribute in their own way. This year, the Red Sox will prove that the whole is greater than the sum of its parts.
  8. I still can't believe how much people are upset about losing a PROSPECT. Get this through your heads, most of them fail. A lot of them do well, but most simply do not live up to their potential. Great trade, makes the Red Sox many times better IMO.
  9. If I were in the Yankees shoes I'd rather see Marte. He's never played well on the MLB level and really hasn't proven anything. As I've stated before, I'm not a big fan of hitting prospects, most of them fizzle out. Crisp is a proven hitter with a decent track record against the Yankees. Riske is an improvement over Mota. The Red Sox won out on this deal, BIG TIME.
  10. Imagine what our rotation will look like for the 2007 season. Beckett Wake Papelbon Lester Arroyo/Clement/Zito(possibly a FA acquisition)
  11. The more I look the deal over the more I like it. Crisp is an extremely versatile hitter and he has that Dirt Dog mentality that is going to make him a fan favorite in Boston.
  12. I think Crisp is the perfect fit for Boston
  13. I got the horror that is the number 5... 5-8 and 4-5
  14. and we keep MDC
  15. yay! Finally, a centerfielder!
  16. They would probably have multiple doctors examine him.
  17. I pray MDC is not in the deal.
  18. you can count on me
  19. Kearns is officially out! http://news.enquirer.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20060126/SPT04/301260009/1062/SPT
  20. I disagree. Like I said, Marte is a freaking prospect. Don't put so much faith in a player who hasn't performed on a major league level. We know what were getting with Crisp. Marte is a gamble.
  21. The Herald and Globe are now both reporting the same deal. Marte/Mota/Shoppach for Crisp/Riske/Bard. The deal COULD be announced as early as today.
  22. You guys put way too much faith into unproven prospects. If Marte stays on the Sox and hits .200 this year you will be crying.
  23. Marte has a lot of potential folks... POTENTIAL! A lot of these high potential prospects work out, HOWEVER, a lot of them do not as well. So lets not lable Marte a 40-HR hitter yet. 2-3 years down the line we will be able to see if this deal worked in our favor or not, if Marte fully realizes his potential, Cleveland got the better end of this deal. HOWEVER, if Marte fizzles out and doesn't become what he could have been, then the Red Sox are the winners. Let's stop whining about losing this "amazing" prospects, I want to see them do something on the major league level before I get upset about losing them.
  24. Tavarez is better than Dotel. Tavarez has been nothing but reliable (albiet a bit fiesty at times) for the Cardinals, Dotel has been shipped around for good reason. The only image I have burned in my head is back to back days where the Sox were down 1 and came back to win against him in the 9th.
