  1. SWEET. I get it! This from TV Guide: 11:30-1 am on FSN. "Interviews and sound bites from players are featured in this look at the storied rivalry between the Red Sox and the Yankess, which focuses on the seasons from 2003 to 2005. Included: the 2003 and 2004 ALCS; the 2005 MVP race between Boston's David Ortiz and the Yank's Slappy McBluelips; the resurgence of the rivalry in the 1990s." Thanks for the info!
  2. Beaver! He looks like a beaver to me. :dunno:
  3. ESPN should be an option for Wednesday.
  4. What's my gamethread record? Suckers.
  5. that's how bird flu got started.
  6. Baltimore (14-18) at Boston (18-12) 2:05 pm EDT http://i.a.cnn.net/si/images/baseball/mlb/players/6167.jpghttp://bellsouthpwp.net/c/h/chinigor/TALKSOX/VS.GIFhttp://i.a.cnn.net/si/images/baseball/mlb/players/7268.jpg http://boston.redsox.mlb.com/mlb/images/team_logos/50x50/bal.gif#34 Kris Benson (4-2, 3.32) http://boston.redsox.mlb.com/mlb/images/team_logos/50x50/bos.gif#55 Lenny DiNardo (0-1, 7.36) The Baltimore Orioles probably can't wait to get out of Boston. The Red Sox may wish they'd never leave. The Red Sox look to complete a three-game sweep of the Orioles and a 5-1 homestand when the teams complete their weekend series at Fenway Park on Sunday. Boston has defeated Baltimore 10 straight times, the longest active winning streak for one AL club over another. The Red Sox have outscored the Orioles by a combined 66-32 during the run that started Sept. 3. Baltimore has scored three runs or fewer in eight of the 10 contests, including a 9-3 defeat Saturday. Boston also handed Baltimore a 6-3 loss in Friday's series opener. The Red Sox (18-12) have scored six or more runs in each of the first five games of their homestand after managing three or fewer runs in 10 of the season's first 25 games. Boston scored five in the second inning on Saturday to help starter Tim Wakefield snap a personal three-game losing skid. ''It made my job a lot easier,'' said Wakefield, who has recorded both of his wins this season against the Orioles (14-18). ''I was pitching well, but you're on the short end of the stick sometimes.'' Manny Ramirez went 1-for-2 with a homer, two walks, and two RBIs. The Red Sox are 7-1 this season in games when Ramirez drives in at least one run. The slugger has a good chance at another productive effort Sunday, as he is hitting .778 (7-for-9) lifetime against Baltimore starter Kris Benson . The Orioles, losers of four straight, once again look to Benson (4-2, 3.32 ERA) to stop a losing streak. The right-hander snapped another four-game slide with a 7-5 win over Toronto on April 27. Benson defeated the Blue Jays again on Tuesday, 9-2 at Camden Yards, limiting the Blue Jays to two runs and six hits in 6 2-3 innings to halt a three-game skid. ''What he does is throw strikes and mix his pitches up,'' Toronto catcher Bengie Molina said Tuesday. ''That's what he does well. Any pitcher that throws strikes and hits the corners keeps you off balance.'' Benson has won his last three starts, and is trying to win four outings in a row for the first time in his career. He lost his only lifetime meeting with the Red Sox on June 4, 2003 while with the Pittsburgh Pirates , allowing eight runs in 6 1-3 innings. Left-hander Lenny DiNardo (0-1, 7.36) makes his first start in eight days for the Red Sox after having his turn in the rotation skipped due to a rainout on Tuesday. DiNardo allowed four runs in five innings in his last outing on April 29 against Tampa Bay, but received no decision in Boston's 9-6 win. DiNardo, who is in the Red Sox rotation while David Wells recovers from a sprained right knee, has been no mystery to opposing hitters, who are batting .397 against him this season. He was the losing pitcher in Boston's last loss to the Orioles on Sept. 2, when he gave up four runs - one earned - in six innings. Wells played long toss in the outfield before Saturday's game, but there is no timetable for his return.
  7. More time to look at Pena if you ask me - and I'm OK with that. Give Coco all the time he needs. He'll be fine.
  8. If it's true, I'm happy. Stay in Houston Rog. Stay. The only reason I want Clemens right now is to keep him out of NY. Sure he'd be an upgrade to the rotation as currently constituted (even IF Wells returns to form), but I have my doubts about him in the AL East. He'd never be able to live up to the hype/money in either NY or Boston. Just stay Roger. Stay.
  9. I totally thought this was a 1pm game... I call a Mirabelli HR.
  10. Gotta say, before this is closed, good win and Welcome Back Kev.
  11. Damn. I was just about to post that first quote. I hope he gets a huge standing ovation. Lineups: Orioles Fahey Mora Tehada Gibbons Hernandez Conine Patterson Millar Markakis Red Sox Youk Loretta Ortiz Manny Nixon Tek Lowell Pena Gonzalez
  12. I think winning percentage should matter.
  13. Millar is back tomorrow night! Seriously, I hope he gets an standing ovation and the Rally Karaoke Guy video. He deserves that.
  14. Wasn't it in Cleveland (or maybe it was Toronto) last week where Sox fans started chanting "Let's go Red Sox" then the home team's fans started chanting back "Red Sox Suck". Then both sides got together and started changing "Yankees Suck"? It was funny as hell. I have no problem with it at all.
  15. EEI just said they are going to try and start the game at 7:15.
  16. A little interest??? The Astros have initially offered Clemens 18 million. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/12564370/
  17. I think anyone with fewer wins or more losses than me should not be allowed to start the game threads. :harhar:
  18. Would you put Lester into a deal for Willis.? I know I suck, but I probably wouldn't. I love the idea of bringing up a new guy with potential. This whole Papelbon ride (for me) is more fun than watching Beckett achieve his potential. I know I'm wrong, I know know know. But still, I think it's more fun my way.
  19. Holy s***. That just made my entire night. It's a 4 day weekend with the Monday day game!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  20. You think Dinardo saved himself with his last start? I don't know. I think depending on tomorrows weather, they may just skip him.
  21. Guess that means... http://www.seasite.niu.edu/thaidict/thailex1/picture/sweep.jpg
  22. Oh sweet mother of Jesus. Add one awesome Friday to my list of days off this year!
  23. Well, at least they cancelled early. I'm glad we didn't have to sit around and wait 2 hours.
  24. Man, figures I have an early meeting tomorrow morning. Watch this game go to 1am.
  25. It sucks? How's the weather up there right now?
