  1. I love the anger shown here toward Yankees fans. Warms my heart, it does.
  2. Hey, hey, one of my very good friends is gay. Don't be hating! NOTE: He's not THAT close a friend...
  3. Of course, that all assumes the Yanks can dump Brown off on someone, which seems unlikely. The Braves were really the only team that had shown interest, and now that they've got Huddy, they won't take Brown unless the Yankees pay his entire salary pretty much.
  4. you could have just edited your first post...
  5. yeszir: HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
  6. I'm going to go with Odalis, because we don't know how Magglio's leg is going to respond this year. With Odalis, what you see is what you get: a young, pretty decent lefty, who can win you 12-15 games per year.
  7. I would rather the Sox had signed Pavano, because he's younger and seems to be more sure. However, neither of them have a long track record of success. Pavano's had one great season, and Clement has had three or so decent seasons. I like the Clement signing, though, because I think he will be an effective pitcher who is coming into his own finally and realizing his talent.
  8. The hockey strike sucks, but the basketball fight has to be the biggest thing, since it's going to have far-reaching effects across professional sports.
  9. Zenny, you should get a custom user script: Resident Stats Guy or something.
  10. Moved from General Baseball Talk.
  11. Moved from General Baseball Talk and topics merged. People, you really need to see if theads already exist on these topics.
  12. I like Clement. He's been improving steadily since he left the Marlins, and should be primed for a breakout year. He won't put up Schilling numbers, but he'll probably somewhere around 3.75-4 ERA, 15-ish wins, especially with the run support he'll probably get.
  13. I really do wish Pedro hadn't done that. Why tarnish the memories we have of him? I still hope he does well, just because of the past, but seriously... that was a douche bag thing to do.
  14. Yes, if the Randy trade goes through, then for now, the Yankees will have a better rotation. Of course, Brown, Johnson, and Mussina can't have too much left, so soon you'll just be left with Pavano and Wright, the latter of which is questionable in my eyes.
  15. I haven't seen anything else about this on ESPN or elsewhere, so until I see that, I'm going to remain skeptical. However, if that IS true, then the Yankees have completely mortgaged their future, by trading the last prospects anyone had any interest in at all.
  16. Clement's record is pretty low, because 1) He was on some terrible Marlins teams, without any support, and 2) because it's only been recently that he's started to fulfill his potential. I'm willing to bet that he can keep up the pace once he leaves the Cubs.
  17. After those two, it's, what, hampton and two other random guys?
  18. That's pretty laughable in my opinion.
  19. Santana affects the Yankees just as much as he affects the Sox. Give it a rest.
  20. Meh... AJ Burnett. Potential? Yes. Injuries? Yep. Immaturity? Also yes. Big gamble, considering what the Sox would need to give up? Absolutely.
  21. Do you really think they're getting rentereia still? I think it's a toss-up right now. The Cards want him back really badly.
  22. As nasty as his stuff is, I don't know that he has the stamina any more. Also, the Braves are a far cry from the teams of the 1990's, when many pitchers could win a fair number of games ont hat team (see Steve Avery).
  23. Dec. 13 - Now that Pedro Martinez is moving closer to leaving Boston for the Mets and Carl Pavano is about to sign with the Yankees, the Red Sox have jumped back hard into the Clement sweepstakes, reports Insider's Jerry Crasnick. The level of interest in Clement could lift him out of the three-year, $21 million to $22.5 million realm inhabited by Jaret Wright, Jon Lieber and Kris Benson and bring him a three-year deal in the range of $8 million to $9 million annually. Cleveland and Toronto have made no secret of their interest in Clement, although the Guardians reportedly dropped out once his price started to rise, and the Dodgers continue to be interested as they also pursue Oakland's Tim Hudson in a trade. Clement reportedly was close to a deal with Anaheim over the weekend, but the longer he waits to sign, the more his price seeems to be increasing.
  24. Agreed.
  25. No pun intended?
