Although it would give the Dodgers more flexibility to dump Green's salary, the deal just doesn't make sense for them to do. All they're really doing is trading Penny for Vazquez, which is a terrible move, since Penny is younger, cheaper, and, some would argue better. Then they're giving up Ishii, who is a respectable lefty, and Green, who is still a pretty good bat, for a reliever, which they don't need, and the two best Yankees prospects, who are frankly pretty bad. And most of the cap room they save on Green goes right out the window, since Vazquez is getting payed a pretty good chunk. Basically, I just repeated elsrbueno, but maybe you'llfinally get it after a bit of repetion. This isn't about not wanting the Yankees to get Randy; this is about the trade making absolutely no sense for the Dodgers to make.
