  1. The Red Sox offered arbitration, and that gets them compensated for losing him. If Damon accepted arbitration, he'd essentially be signed with the team. And easy stepping there...I have no problem banning another Yankee fan. The board's been swarming with new ones, and if you feel like saying something that starts some s***, you might want to consider jumping out a window instead. BUT, if you'll be productive (see: He Hate Me, 26-6, AlexanderTheGreat, others), then welcome to the site.
  2. You caught me. It took a thousand some posts, but you've caught the Dogg.
  3. Two completely pointless posts. Bizzanned. If you have any issues with this ban, feel free to send me an e-mail. On second thought, don't. f*** off.
  4. Welcome to the site- are you a Mariner fan or Sox fan?
  5. Okay...but who's the last free agent that the Yankees let go that we actually wanted?
  6. I....LOVE...YOU. Welcome to the site.
  7. I definitely love the Red Sox more than the Yankees. But this is an unwritten rule, and I'm surprised you're not affected by it. And I'm not talking about co-workers here. I'm talking about the fans. I have no idea what goes on in a NY locker room (well, I could guess...gross. Sorry, couldn't resist) but the Boston fans who loved the s*** out of this guy are hostile, relentless motherf***ers. Is it worth that extra couple million a year (most HUMANS live off about 50K, god forbid you get TWO MILLION less when you're already being paid as you are)? If you think that what the Red Sox offered him won't last him the rest of his life, you are very much mistaken. His idiot is showing, and it's going to bite him in the ass.
  8. NO, not when the job I'm working at for 5K less is one I really enjoy, where I love the place and everyone there loves me. HE WENT TO THE YANKEES. Dodgers, Orioles, Mets, Cards, ANYBODY ELSE. But no, going to the Yankees is unforgivable. AND PEOPLE DON'T NEED THAT EXTRA 8 MILLION DOLLARS. He made SO much money off his book and his endorsements, as well as in the past, that 44 million WOULD, in fact, set him up for life. But no, I guess that wasn't quite good enough.
  9. And I forgot the only two players NOT talked about this offseason: Ortiz and Varitek...the only two position players NOT available for trade.
  10. I'd be pretty happy come time when we have Loretta/Cora/Graff/Pedroia platooning middle infield, Marte/Lowell/Youkilis between first and third, and Manny, Trot, and Reed/Crisp in the outfield. Not gonna lie, that's really not terrible. Oh, and also, Schilling/Beckett at the top of the rotation? Papelbon/Wakefield/Arroyo or Clement rounding it off. I have no problem with the 2006 Red Sox. Let me say: I'm not unhappy Johnny's gone. I am unhappy he went to the ONE TEAM that really gets to Sox fans. However, I would be enormously unhappy if we signed him for as much as the Yanks did. It's very bittersweet. ANY other team would be fine, and you'd be remembered in Boston for the good times. But what he just did is unforgivable.
  11. Also, say goodbye to the hair and beard.
  12. Blame ownership for not overpaying? Are you kidding? Ownership offered EXACTLY what he should have gotten. When you're making 44 million dollars, is that 8 million really that important? Not to mention all the advertisement and book money he got. I guess playing for people who love you isn't good enough. Half of New York hates him, I'm really excited to see their reaction.
  13. Good riddance you f***er. There really is a huge difference between 11/year (4 yrs 44 by Boston) and 13/yr (4 yrs 52 from NY). For someone who was a fan favorite for his years here (never gained my respect though, I prefer players who shut the f*** up, personally), you really betrayed your fans. Enjoy that extra two million per year, we'll take Reed or Crisp, thanks guy. I cannot wait to boo your ass in Fenway next year.
  14. I'm curious as to why you hate them. I went to three Cardinals games this year in Busch stadium, and the fans and the team gave me an amazing experience. Although for one of the games, it was against Pedro and the Mets, so I cheered for Petey. One was against the Pirates, and those were in the nosebleeds, and the other one was against the Cubs. That's like the Sox - Yanks rivalry, except the Cubs aren't any good, there's no violence or massive hatred....actually it's not like the Sox Yanks rivalry. But it was fun. Again, it's a great organization with a crazy manager, who this year had the MVP in Pujols and CY in Carpenter. So I'm curious why you'd make such a ridiculous statement. No real baseball fan would want to see someone get hurt.
  15. As for the 13 man pitching staff, Dotel won't be ready until a few months into the season, so until then, I guess it's not a problem.
  16. I pretty much stick to just Sox and Pats, but I always love a good close College Basketball game. UCONN's my team, lots of family roots there.
  17. It's an awful trade period. So awful, not only has it not happened yet, but let's pray it won't. As is such, this is going to Rumors.
  18. Haha, my roommate's gonna be pissed (he's a diehard Cards fan) and we were just talking yesterday about how much he hates Looper. But the cards are pretty depleted in their bullpen, and if Looper can not suck this year, he's a good addition. And speaking of that, another EDition of overpaid bullpen help. It's getting outta control.
  19. They have sooo much talent, most of which needs another few years in the minors. They're gonna be my NL team next season, I would love to see them get .500. I'm going with 81 games.
  20. Sure, push for Tejada, why not? Front office has gone for pretty much everybody else on the market this offseason. I could vent but I won't...I just know I'm gonna stop speculating because only god knows what the front office have in mind between Wells, Manny, Damon, Youkilis, Marte, Pedroia, Nixon, Clement, Arroyo, Lowell, and to fill gaps that could be created in the entire outfield and at SS. So I'm just going to stop. If we could get Tejada in ANY way, I say go for it. He is hands down the best SS in the game, period.
  21. I'm not sure I understand this trade...unless they're moving Marte for a shortstop? Are we still pursuing Cabrera? The FA SS market is hugely weak, and we don't exactly have Hanley anymore. Is this making room for Nomar? Lugo still in the picture? We have a backlog of 3b now in Youkilis, Lowell, and Marte. What's going on here?
  22. from Gordon Edes: "It was something of a surprise that Myers was not offered arbitration. Bill Lajoie said the team could only afford to have one reliever who fits in the category of a one-hitter pitcher and they have that in Chad Bradford. A number of teams have expressed interest in Myers, including the Yankees."
  23. I'm sad to lose a great player who's been nothing short of exactly what we wanted him to be in his seasons here, but I'm happy for him he'll get his chance to start. Good luck, Dougie, and come back any time.
