  1. By far the best pitched game of the season for Pedro and the team. A tight, exciting win like this is just what the team needs to get back on its feet.
  2. Something interesting that I found: The Red Sox drafted four relatives of team personnel today, 32. Brad Hertzler LHP (R.I. HS)--brother of minor league RHP Barry 40. Nick Francona LHP (New Jersey HS)--son of Terry 43. Tyler Latham RHP (Alabama HS)--son of a Red Sox scout 44. Beau Mills 3B (California HS)--son of coach Brad I guess blood is thicker than water, eh.
  3. But Pedro looks fine right now. The weather certainly helps. I think we should stop worrying so much about him. Anyone know what his fastball is at mph-wise?

    Buckley

But Lou isnt on the sox anymore....
  5. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=1817596 He's going to play another AAA game today to see if he's ready. He'll only play when hes "100%"
  6. Haha, Bill Buckner!

    Tampa Bay

Heh, I didn't even know they won. Congrats though.
  8. Indeed. I've always thought that that's a waste. Especially with the classic uniforms, like Williams, Dimaggio and Ruth. It's better in the hands of one collector than in the hands of two thousand collectors.
  9. But remember what he did in his last first game back? I doubt he'll do it again, but we have every right to be excited over Nomar's return, dont we? He's one of the best players in baseball, and he'll help the team out a ton.
  10. I've always liked Milton Bradley. Captain Cesar Crespo isnt bad either.
  11. I'm hoping that its Crespo as well. And whats up with your post? Its all code, lol. Thanks for posting though!
  12. Here's another article from the L.A. Daily News: Perez really surprised me (as he did many other people I'm sure) two or three years ago with that breakout season. He hasn't been as dominant since, but he certainly would make a great number 2 or 3 starter on the sox. Better than lowe at least.
  13. Damn, we had some crappily high (or low?) picks. And oh no! our first pick has a scrappy frame!
  14. HA! I've always thought that too! (well, maybe not most underrated, but he's certainly up there)
  15. Alright, the time has come for the first site contest. This one is easy, the rules are as follows: 1) Simply post in this thread declaring your entry into this contest. That's all that is needed. This is a random contest, more like a sweepstakes. 2) Only active, contributing members (by the time the contest ends) are allowed to enter. If you enter and only have 1 post, or spam constantly, your entry will be disqualified. 3) New members are allowed to enter, so long as they have proven themselves as "active" (NOT BY SPAMMING) by the time the contest ends. 4) The drawing will be random, and will take place Tuesday, June 15th. The winner be announced then. Good luck! There will be more contests to come in the future!
  16. Welcome to the board Chris!
  17. No news, but welcome to the site.
  18. No, he's traditionally been a slow starter, you're right on that. Hopefully he'll get even hotter after the ASB. Good win for the sox, especially sine the yankees won too.
  19. OUCH!! Wow. I've never heard of ANYTHING like this happening before. Point blank throw right into the face.
  20. You're absolutely right in this. The biggest drawback of the park is the lack of speed it induces in the team. I personally like small ball. Base stealing is exciting. I watch a national league game and am shocked by how much different it can be. It certainly is interesting to think about how the lack of speed, which is most likely a result of the ballpark, can affect the team in postseason play. But that alone can't be the reason the sox fail all the time. Look at the Yankees. Sure their ballpark can be more favorable to their team, but they don't have speed. They're the "Bronx Bombers", not the "Bronx Base Stealers." Yet they still manage to win in the postseason, and win consistently. Or can this just be attributed to the 200 million dollar payroll?
  21. Awww, Lowe is pitching perfectly well and has a chance to get himself a nice double play, but he botches it, as is customary. I hope they dont score because of this.
  22. Dammit. We can't win, especially with Lowe pitching, if our offense decides to hit into double plays. That was a perfectly good opportunity wasted.
