  1. Reading through this thread I have one thing to say: You're all Red Sox fans. Haven't you gotten used to it at this point?
  2. ESPN commentary is pissing me off. That other, non-Chris Berman guy is so unbelievable biased towards the MFY that it makes me want to puke. And wtf, Ortiz is the hero and the fool.
  3. I like this. Two years ago I thinhk it was, he was absolutely dominant. I think he won something like 14 games that season. If he can pitch at all like he could before, and keep the homeruns down (if I recall, that was his main problem), he could very well be our 5th starter towards the end of the season. I was just wondering what happened to him.
  4. I'm not a big fan of that insinuation of sign stealing that whatever his name sucky ESPN commentator just made. The sox have had the yankees' base-stealing number so far, but it hasnt realy made a difference. We just guessed right I think,
  5. I fixed the date
  6. I own the Red Sox history DVD and it certainly is good for a brief history of the team. If you want to read, rather than watch, you also may consider investing in the Red Sox Century book, which came out a few years ago. It goes into detail about everything up to 1999 I think. It's essentially how I learned Red Sox history.
  7. Sorry for the short post, but I'm typing from a laptop on a dial-up connection in the boonies. Anyway, I despise moneyball. It just seems to me that everyone who reads it turns into some OBP zombie who is unable to formulate his or her own opinion about anything regarding baseball. Congratulations to you if you read the book and take some of it with a grain of salt. I think that the moneyball theory is partially to blame for the Red Sox current slumpish performance.
  8. Welcome to the site derekn, I hope that you enjoy it.
  9. Yeszir's vacation post for the day: I've always been high on Kim, and I think that in a few years he'll be great as a starter. He just needs to get his act together. For now, I think he is a better choice over Bronson, who certainly hasnt been pitching well at all. He wont be astounding, I can guarantee you that, and he'll have his fair share of blowups, but he can come through for us, I hope.
  10. Lol, it only took you 12 days to post here! Ok, thats it, my post for the day, back to my non-internetness.
  11. There's already a thread going on this in the general baseball forum (two merged into one actually). So I guess there's no need for another one. Feel free to discuss it over there.
  12. I'm not saying Tek is the #1. I'm saying Nomar is the number one, provided his demands arent ridiculous.
  13. Maybe it was an error on the gun. I've never heard of him throwing that hard.
  14. Things change fast. 4-3.
  15. Damn, i'm not even aware that the game started. 3-2 philly now. I need to get on top of this schedule. I like night games a lot more.
  16. haha, yankee hatred overruling reading ability there Zenny?
  17. Not to mention the yankees depleted pitching staff.....
  18. Just a reminder, referrals must make 5 posts. These will be checked at the end and referrals that do not have 5 posts will not count towards the final score.
  19. Johnny Damon - Damon Mark Bellhorn - Bell David Ortiz - Teez Manny Ramirez - Manny Nomar - Nomar Trot Nixon - Trot Kevin Millar - YOU SUCK Kevin Youkilis - Youky Jason Varitek -Tek Pokey Reese - Pokey Bill Mueller - Muell Doug Mirabelli - Useless Gabe Kapler - Fellow Jes Pedro Martinez - Peeeeeedro Curt Schilling - Curt Tim Wakefield - Wake Bronson Arroyo - Brunson Derek Lowe - Lowe Keith Foulke - Foulke Scott Williamson - Willy Not too exciting really. Nothing crazy.
  20. The Sea Dogs lost, but he only have up one run. His line: Abe Alvarez 6.0 2 1 1 0 6 1 3.76 6 K's and only 2 hits in 6 IP is not too shabby if you ask me.
  21. Whoa, not much action on here tonight, eh? Well, we won, 12-1, thats good. Manny made a good catch, save for a Thome gopher ball Pedro pitched well, and the sox look like they may be back on track. Phew.
  22. I hope he dies.
