And despite repeated attempts to apologize, it continues. I must apologize too. It seems that some of them slipped through the filtering cracks, wichita being the most recent example. I'll continue to see to it if it happens. So much for practice what you preach though, right? I've attempted to contact them personally, but to no avail. Why talk something over when you can spam a forum and waste hours of everyone's time, right?

Things between the sox and the yankees are just getting good. A few years ago the teams were like friends. You could tell that the players really didn't care about the rivalry, and they just let the fans have their fun. They got paid no matter who they played, so why bother? But, particularly with last year, the teams are starting to become enemies. I can guarantee you that, had Wells been a yankee last year, there's no way he's playing on our team. It's great. Arod slapping Bronsons and Varitek punching Arod is classic. Some people argue that it ruins the game's image, but I think it only adds to it. Who wants to see a boring 3 hour snoozefest? Not me. Although I wasn't alive to see it, this reminds me of what I imagine the 70's were like, with Fisk attempting to beat the s*** out of every Yankee he saw. I love it, and seeing them shake hands would ruin it.

To all talksox members, I apologize for the current invasion of morons. They apparently have nothing better to do and have decided to waste mine and your time. I attempted to contact the site from which they came in order to apologize, but to no avail. Their ridiculous "demands" are made in vain now, and they are beginning to sound pathetic. Rest assured the situation will be taken care of, emails will be posted, and registration will be limited. If all else fails their site will be posted so we can sort this out the hard way. I've already spent hours dealing with this.

'41 was 64 years ago. To remember anything from then you'd have to have been at least 10. I don't think there are that many 74 year olds on message boards.

I wasn't a big fan of the article on him though. I liked the magazine though, because I found out that the least likely way a person can get to first base is to have a player be on first, then to have the game gets postponed to be played later. If the player who was on first already gets traded in the time it takes to make up the game, another player can take his spot. I thought that was cool.

8:05 PM EST. So it begins. I have created this thread the day before the game because, well hey, it's opening day. Usually game threads should be created day of game. The previous game's thread will be closed upon commencement of the next day's game. Looks like it's gonna be Johnson v. Wells. Wells is 16-8, 2.94 lifetime vs. NYY, and Johnson 8-6, 4.41 lifetime vs. BOS. This is the first of 18 games between the two teams, I think, so there's plenty more where this comes from. Even though it is practically meaningless (first game, half of our rotation is injured), I'm sure whoever wins this will be bragging until, well, until tomorrow. This is gonna be fun.

Why not go with Cy Young, the man with the most victories of any pitcher ever (and don't give me that most losses crap either). Pitchers 80 years ago were hardcore.
