  1. One less annoying p.o.s we have to worry about.
  2. Knock it off. Really. And yankeesnation, welcome to the site.
  3. A somewhat belated welcome to the site.
  4. Welcome to modern baseball. Players have a contract, they get paid, they play, and then they leave. They also get replaced. I wouldn't worry about it to much, if he doesn't stay there are plenty of other options.
  5. Except when it comes to classic rock. I guess I just never gave Boston radio stations much credit, but they blow XM out of the water in terms of musical selection, even with its 100+ channels. I see no need for 4 dance and trance channels.
  6. Whats up fools? It's been a while for me. Just echoing the "we'll be fine" sentiment that has already been thrown around a bunch.
  7. You said "up," which generally implies going North, so I thought you meant on the way back. What was he doing in Boston?
  8. Welcome to the site. Two things, we have a special introduction forum for first posts, and this is spam. Very very bizarre spam. I've never seen anyone peddle a stock on a forum before. But welcome anyways. Edited and moved.
  9. I hate listening to Gammons. He has good ideas, but he can't speak dammit! "If those names are released it is agreed that the new agreement is null and void." Eek. "Total chaos."
  10. Plane ride up to Boston? That's cool, if you like fifty cent I guess. If you have any awesome pictures, upload 'em here so we can see!
  11. From the globe: The most games we'll have to go in a row until the 13th is 4. It might be a bit too optimistic, but maybe this enough time for at least one of our starters to recover so we can be back to semi-rotation status.
  12. There are a ton of Florida based fans here. I'm sure you'll find some. Welcome to the site.
  13. Hole or no hole, open heart surgery is never because of a minor problem.
  14. It keeps getting worse. Apparently he'll now be needing open heart surgery to repair a hole in his heart which may have been the cause of the stroke.
  15. Speaking of which, what a horribly stupid idea! Making over the sox? Sheesh.
  16. It happens every spring. They never play well. It really has no bearing on the rest of the season, since I don't think we'll have AA players in during the 4th inning in June.
  17. The article on Sheets in one of the recent issues in ESPN has made me really pessimistic about signing him next year. The Brewers plan to build around him, and supposedly, he plans on staying.
  18. We've already got some nice prizes lined up. Look for the contests in the near future.
  19. Oh, by the way Zenny and RedSoxRooter, are you guys racing to 1000 posts?
  20. In my opinion, the whole "pressure in Boston" situation is overblown. What did Nomar in was the wrist and the fan negativity, which is different than pressure. Pressure is a need to perform. Negativity is fans screaming at you, calling you selfish, and wishing you out of town. If it really had been the pressure in Boston, and if it really is bad for young players, how did Nomar manage to hit above .320 from '98-'00? It makes no sense to say that the pressure got to him after he won two batting titles. If anything he should have improved. I agree with you that he didn't fully develop with the sox, but lets not try to shift the blame to the pressure of playing in Boston.
  21. Amen. BDD kinda fueled the hatred against Nomar, and it was completely unwarranted. I still like him. I completely agree with your first post rsr.
  22. I was always a fan of moving Hanley to either 2b or OF. It used to be because we were supposed to have Nomar for a long time, and now it's Renteria. He'll be ready within the next four years, without a doubt, and we have to put him somewhere. His defense is tradtionally shaky, something that was supposed to have been worked out earlier but wasn't, which I think is the main argument for switching him to the OF.
  23. Mueller also had his first at bat of the spring after his knee surgery. He grounded out to third I think.
  24. Yea, if we do it again, it won't be so damn easy this time. It took a total of 5 hours for someone to crack it.
