  1. I'm glad Clement pitched well as well, but Schilling is already back in the rotation. You must be talking about Miller...
  2. Element is the new winner since no pm was recieved from Radgeta, for his joke: Questions Not To Ask In Foreign Lands IRELAND “Are you magically delicious or just angry and drunk?” FRANCE “Can I get a side of Freedom Fries with that?” ITALY “I could sure go for a can of Spaghetti-O’s! ” GERMANY “Is this bratwurst kosher?” SWEDEN “Do you have any normal meatballs?” CANADA “You’re like Americans without money.” SAUDI ARABIA “Would you like to see my designs for a solar powered car?" RUSSIA “Is it always this cold and economically devastated?” UZBEKISTAN “Can you spell Uzbekistan?” GREECE “I hear this place is a less expensive version of Italy." AFGHANISTAN “Seriously, where is the real country… where is everything?” JAPAN “What’s Hiroshima? Is that a kind of sushi?” Please PM me with your email address within 3 days. You know the deal.
  3. Only one and a half days left in this guys, get those entries in for a chance to win the shirt!
  4. At least we can be pretty confident that the team won't have a losing record again for the rest of the season. Things are starting to fall into place.
  5. Last year his ERA was 5.67. but he still managed to shut us down. There are some teams that have difficulty with some pitchers for no apaprent reason.
  6. I second that welcome. I'm sure you'll enjoy it here.
  7. We aren't gonna score that many runs today, since Kazmir has beaten us in the past. Manny snapped out of it last night, and before the game Remy hit the nail right on the head and predicted it. He showed a clip of a the first D-Ray's game, and compared a swing late in the game with one early in the game. Early, Manny brought his head up off of the ball and missed on a relatively ugly upper cut swing. Later, he kept his head down and drove the ball to center.
  8. Oy. He's what the Mets needed this year to make a true run. He scares me. Yankees- Last place in the AL East.
  9. It was expected, wasn't it? We were all just hoping that he'd not sign and become trade material. In any case, if our rotation actually meets expectations (see: Wells last night), then we'd have no need for Sheets. Granted, I'd hate to see how our pitching will look in 2-3 years unless Theo makes some sort of move.
  10. Aside from his no-hitter, I can't remember any CG SHO from Lowe for us. That's incredible.
  11. So long as we aren't facing Kazmir, we'll win.
  12. And we win! First shutout of the season.
  13. The game went to hell when they started allowing women to watch. Although I do feel like the entire thing is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay overblown (take a peek at the New York tabloids), I don't think fans have the right to interfere with a player or even a ball. Your point was valid, that people these days would have a hissy fit over the way the game was played 100 or even 50 years ago, but it's been this way for a while. In a time where every single pitch has a corporate sponsor and we have rap music blaring in between batters, we're lucky if this is all we have to deal with. How long will it be before some ******* scaredipants wants all seats at least 20 feet away from the field? Look at the pictures from FHM that were posted in the sheff thread and tell me if he showed restraint. Had it been one guy, alone in an alley, Sheff would have attempted to beat the ever loving s*** out of him. He didn't want to go Artest style, getting tens of fans involved in something that would only lead to suspensions and lawsuits.
  14. Now this is more like it. Even if it is just against TB, this is the sort of game that gets your hitting and pitching back on track. (Wells + Renteria = finally)
  15. It's coming. It may take a few more days for me to announce the start, I need to think of an appropriate contest.
  16. Understandable. He "had to take care" of his family, so he goes to a distant city and then proceeds to bitch about playing there. If he played for Boston he'd be run out of town so quickly...
  17. buncha stalkers
  18. We need runs. This time it wasn't all Edgar's fault either.
  19. I'd do it provided you guys all chip in for the 1,000 dollar fine and compensate me for the night in jail.
  20. He was close enough to the 10 post mark, I let him enter.
  21. We tried a failed poster canvassing compaign last year. It's a good idea though, maybe for future games. I think the problem was that, although people saw our bold TALKSOX.COM flyers and the accompanying text, they simply forgot about it because they had nothing to take home with them. A talksox.com tshirt could also get the name out there. I'll think of something.
  22. Schill will pitch a perfect game. You heard it here first.
  23. I'm gooooooooing, I'm goooooooing.....
  24. I started with the fez and worked my way down. It's how I've always pictured you.
  25. Winner: Radgeta, for his: joke which was one of the few that made me laugh. Radgeta, you have 3 days from this post to PM me and claim your prize, I believe all I need is an email address from you. If I get no PM, another joke will be chosen (and one of Element's is looking pretty good).
