  1. And Renteria! 3-0. Rent is 10 of his last 17 ABs.
  2. Damon is an absolute beast.
  3. Olerud hits in his first sox AB.
  4. Ugh, I just woke up. All games should be played at 7:05 EST. That should be a law.
  5. I read about this earlier. Glad to hear that he's alright, but that's really scary. There are so many risks to being a pitcher. On a positive note, at least Nashville has a baseball team, so I may catch some games next year.
  6. It's as much of a pimpmobile as a Honda Accord can be, but yea, I have it. I've grown a bit fonder of it lately. I don't really use it for the baseball games since im not in my car 24/7, but if you got a stereo for the house I bet it would be really worth it. The music selection for me isnt that great, since I'm more into classic rock and some select new stuff, but if you like more mainstream rap/pop/rock/punk, you'd like the music. If you're going to use it, its worth it. They have all the sox broadcasts, but it isnt always the WEEI feed I believe.
  7. I've never been a fan of the ludicriously high priced, short term player who you would have to give up a lot to have. Advancing in the playoffs one year while sacrificing your future for years to come never made sense to me.
  8. Ortiz is 29 and Manny is 33 in 2 days. They aren't old, they're just semi-struggling like much of the team. The answer isn't to always trade our best players, like some yankee fans would have you believe. We have a lot of quality youth (fine, a moderate amount of quality youth) coming up from the minors in the next few years. A mix of vets and younglings (sorry, I just saw star wars yesterday) is what we need.
  9. It's the lack of production and conversion with RISP and the high LOB that's killing us. It seems like we get the hits, and then do nothing with them.
  10. So I missed this. Saw crap wars instead. I don't know which I would have preferred to watch.

    A-Rod

How can a knuckleballer pitch around a guy? Don't you just throw it and pray?
  12. Wake hasn't pitched wondefully his past two games, but he has to turn it around sometime right?
  13. If the Red Sox pick this series to be the breakout one, then we could easily take back first place in the division by the next week. We'll just have to wait and see.
  14. Hey, welcome to Talksox.
  15. You sure you don't just want my fingernails?
  16. I read part of the article, it doesn't claim that steroids are the only, or even the main cause.
  17. I'll get on some of these in the coming days.
  18. Threads merged.
  19. Whose head would you call for? It's an all-around lack of production from the team. You can't blame the manager or any one specific player 9with the exception of maybe Wells Renteria and Bellhorn). Things will click soon, they have to.
  20. Although I have to admit, there is less of a sense of urgency to this bad streak than in years past. I find that I'm forgiving this team more and more after last year.
  21. Good job for including Marichal in there. What he did with the bat was and still is inexcusable.
  22. I say that we just give up and make Millar pitch. At least it would be entertaining.
  23. Ouch. Definitely not a great start.
  24. Don't you guys know? Yankee fans live in the past. Bernie's hitting was once awesome, so it follows that it will always be awesome. Just as the Yankees remain perpetual world champs.
  25. Anyone who can look that stupid in their mlb.com photo can't possibly beat us. We're due, and we're going to win. You heard it here first. (Well, second, but same thing)
