  1. I've noticed that it is entirely possible that neither the sox nor the yankees make the playoffs this year.
  2. I take full responsibilty for this.
  3. Sweet. Zenny needs to keep predicting horrendous losses.
  4. But when you predict a loss, we usually win. YES!
  5. Day games = boring around here.
  6. Welcome to Talksox. I think we have a few British members, but none from Austria. Cool!
  7. He may have 400 homeruns, but his team is below .500.
  8. Welcome to the site. And don't listen to RedSoxRooter, he's more of the village idiot than anything else.
  9. I have no reason to not watch day games now, but I still hate them! I have to get up by 3! What the hell is this crap!
  10. Welcome to Talksox. And guys, the reason for the influx is better search engine positioning, something i've been working on for a while.
  11. Exactly. I'm seeing more and more baseball fans treat the sox as the new yankees. It used to be that the sox got next to no coverage on the major networks, but now it seems like its constant 24/7 spewing of the same facts and garbage over and over. I certainly don't want Boston to become the new New York. But it is somewhat understandable that New York is getting so much coverage while they struggle. Blah blah blah payroll stuff, but they're also the largest baseball market in the country. Apologies to Kansas City, Arizona, San Diego and the like, but it just makes sense. :dunno:
  12. He also adds confidence, something which this team doesn't seem to have much of right now. Sure we're winning games, and are leaps and bounds better than the yanks, but it doesn't seem like we have the confidence necessary to be division leaders. It may be a result of last year, but the drive to win seems to be severely reduced, both in the fans and the players. (I find myself forgiving mistakes MUCH more easily than I have in the past). Schilling is a born winner. He's an intense competitor as we've seen with the bloody sock, and he wants to win. With him back in the dugout starting games, it may give the sox the kick they need to run away with this thing.
  13. elsrbueno and ahhchon said it best. You'd be hard pressed not to love Pedro (unless you're an avid reader of bostondirtdogs). He was the greatest sox player of our time, and one of the greatest pitchers to ever play. I'm not going to regurgitate what's already been said, but the health risks, the 4th year, and the money are all valid reasons not to have re-signed him. Not to mention the fact that we've seen what our pitchers are capable of. Wells, Clement, and Miller have all shown flashes of brilliance. Schilling hasn't started a game since April 23rd.
  14. I hope you don't mind becoming the official team pessimist then. You just need to predict a loss every night! On a related note, the yankees now have a LOSING record! 29-30.
  15. I missed it. Probably best left to my imagination.
  16. Yea, really.....no one cares at all about hockey. I can't claim to be a fan, but congrats to Cam. He's a great guy too.
  17. Hey, welcome to Talksox Katie.
  18. Provided I actually watch this one, It'll be the first sox game I see live in a long time. Weird.
  19. As an admin I can't add you to my ignore list because then I wouldn't be seeing everything that goes on, but you can consider yourself ignored. Deal?!!!!!
  20. Noooooooo. Scott Boras is the devil.
  21. I find it hard to believe that you could hold a job. Anyway, he looks reeeeeeeaally young. Nice pictures, and welcome to the site.
  22. If there was a hack that made it possible to ban exclamation points and TERRIBLE grammar, I would implement it sooooooooooooooooooooooo fast.
  23. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.!!!!!!!.!!!!!.
  24. You would, but the Rockies certainly wouldn't. That would be the single most lop-sided trade in history. We can unload our underperforming overpaid players and get a superstar in return? Ok..
