Changes to ads on our forums

Over the next few hours, this change should propagate to all users:

We've reduced ad coverage on the forums by about 25% on mobile devices. I've received complaints and also been bothered by how prevalent ads are on phones, specifically on the forums. While there will still occasionally be ad-post-ad situations, it will be rare now and after testing this for several days, I've seen more instances of four posts in a row with no ads between than I've seen ad-post-ad situations.

Hopefully this makes browsing and participating on the forums a more pleasant experience on mobile devices!

There is definitely more ads when I’m browsing on mobile, which is whatever, my bigger issue is the ads with noise or that pause my music/videos while browsing.

I browse the site a lot while getting in cardio and usually have music on and in for some reason will pause my music a lot to show me an ad and half the time the ad doesn’t even have audio.

I don't run into these often but I also find them infuriating, those are SUPPOSED to be disabled but people who code ads are s***** people and try to subvert the process.

All I can say is try to identify which ad is doing it and send it to me with a screenie. I wish I had a better solution.

There is a total wine ad that has audio and is extremely annoying I’ve ran into twice today. It starts playing a woman talking about a wine story and I can’t even figure out where the ad is on screen to mute it/close the ad.

This is the specific ad If that helps. It’s really annoying and involved a song about total wine lol.
