The SOX have a chance of being the worst defensive team in MLB history since the Stat Cast era began.

Outs Above Average, zero being average, appears to be the main stat in determining the status of a team's defense. The record for worst OAA was the 2017 Mets at -58.

Right now the SOX are at -54. Catchers' defensive stats are not used in OAA.

Kike, who's long gone, led with a -14. Casas is at -10, Devers is at -8, and Masa is at -6. In his few games with the SOX this season Story is at +2.

Let's hope the SOX don't achieve that embarrassing record.
