Haha.. yeah but what does SHE know anyway

She always says I’m not romantic. So I say let’s watch this and she gets mad.

Yet she likes 50 shades of grey. I don’t get women.

Porcello doesn’t look good. You guys are hating on Jacko but he’s absolutely right.

Why thank you. I think everyone is on board with my assessment tonight. Some initially resisted, but it's really apparent. He has absolutely no command or consistency with his breaking ball release point. He is either releasing it too high and having it drop into the hitting zone or slinging it from the side and getting no drop to it. He needs to be better than this. I've watched this start and the Yankees start and he is clearly better with his FB and change command today, but he has to find that breaking ball to be good against good lineups.

If the sox use him as I expect them to coming out of the break, he will start the 3rd game of the second half against the Dodgers. If the sox stay on schedule (they have 34 games in 34 days, 1 off day, 1 DHer vs NYY), Porcello will face:

LAD-BAL-TB-TB-NYY. He and Levangie need to get together during the break and get that release point right

75 pitches through 4 against this team is an utter joke.

MLB is choke full of pitchers that are broken down rag arm bums, kids that would never have made it out of AA in any decade you want to talk about other than this one, guys good for about 20 pitches MAYBE and a very very VERY few good pitchers.

If there was a book on women, they would just throw it at us.

Leon actually is doing a REALLY good job with him today. No, Rick isn't gonna give you length, but he isn't letting Rick throw cement mixer after cement mixer and let the Tigers come back. After the HR, he only had Rick throw the breaking ball well outside the zone as a look.

Be firm about it. She’ll comply. 50 Shades of gray was lame.. so I’ve heard.

She wants to watch 50 shades of grey and its a romantic film of boundaries and dominance. You want to watch brazzers and you're a pig. Same thing

Can't make a silk purse from a sow's ear. If this was a real baseball team the Sox were facing tonight Rick would have been pounded senseless long before this, Leon or no Leon.

All those wasted runs may cost us this game .Should have scored 10 easy off zim

If I am WTF, I send out Rick for the 5th and tell him before the inning that he's done after 5. Leave it out there, have him leave with the win pending and be happy you got 5 out of him

I agree. But at least Leon gave you a chance to let Porcello beat the team you are playing. Sometimes you need to be happy that some teams aren't trying to win

I still want him. Home town discount and he is still as good or better than any other 3 or 4 man. He was awesome against Oakland Minnesota and Houston. All good teams. This is Porcello though. His command can be off there’s no doubt about that and he can get inside his own head. Like he did against the Yankees. But he is still going to deliver us 6 innings. End of the day his command can be off at times I agree but the results are still there for a 3 or 4 guy I love that. We won’t get the CY YOUNG Rick back but we will usually always have a pitcher that delivers us 6 innings and gives us a chance to win. He can step it up against good teams as well like he has this year. Sale has been far and I mean far worse his last handful of starts.

Hey! There’s plenty of dominance in my movie too.

My assessment isn't an indictment on whether he should be kept or not. It is that he lost the release point of his breaking ball. He has clearly not been the same innings eater he was before and some of it is due to the regression of his arsenal. It doesn't mean he cannot find it again. The one thing that has impressed me today is that he has gone up in the zone with a 91mph fastball and guys are swinging at it like its 98

I am more concerned with the state of MLB at this point. It has become a farce. This issue goes far beyond whether the Sox make it to a WC or not. The entire game is being turned into a farce, some different game than baseball.

I was serous before about MLB pitchers making it to the HOF after the few that are good pitchers retire and make it. THATS it. On this trend line not another MLB pitcher will make it to the HOF EVER!

The HOF vote is typically a vote against peers. I know the counting stats usually need to be there, but we have gotten into worth and value far more to where I doubt lack of wins will keep an elite guy out. I am not worried about the state of the game in terms of competitiveness. It is cyclical. The NL has only 1 team more than 7 games out of the playoff spot. Only 3 teams more than 4 games out. Of those 3 teams, 2 are still trying to win (SF and NYM). The AL right now is in a down cycle with juggernauts and slugs. 5 teams more than 13 games out of a PO spot with the Angels and White sox slipping in the 5.5-6.5 games out range. But the WC race is really competitive with 5 teams within 3 games of each other and only 2 spots available

Fair point. Maybe comes with age? Regression a bit. But he had his CY YOUNG season followed by a terrible season but was solid last season and now this season about average. He’s a very strange pitcher. Maybe he does drugs.
