His overall demeanor sets him apart. That, and the way his anxiousness has not kept from being relatively patient at the plate. He's been in a terrible (for him) hitting slump for about three weeks and nobody noticed! Last night, pressure and slump be-damned he got his base hit in the ninth when the odds must have been 10-1 against it.

Bottom line, I've been a rabid Red Sox fan since about 1934, and I have never seen a total package like this. Time will tell, but you guys are going to see something special over the next ten years!

A comp is fairly hard because he has been so confounding relative to his expectations. Like a younger, skinnier Kirby Puckett at this rate.

Your mention of Kirby Puckett was very interesting. Stat wise, there are undeniable measurable similarities. But the "younger, skinnier Kirby Puckett" reference particularly got my attention. For most the mention of Puckett often brings to mind the image of a pudgy-bowling ball type physique. But to my surprise, Baseball-Reference.com has Kirby listed at 5'8" and 178 lbs. which is clearly close to Mookie at 5' 9", 180 lbs. Who whoulda thought!
