From the sounds of it, the Yankees are close to signing Frare, Aune, OBrien and most of their top 10 rounders. Hensley says he wants to sign quickly as well. Rhymes says he's going to school and Mesa is looking for a first round bonus, so I'd say those two are incredibly unlikely to sign at this point

We've now added 6 more lefty pitchers to the mix and popped our first signability case in Frare. Frare is a LHP from HS in Montana. 6'1" 195 capable of throwing the ball in the low 90s, topping out at 94 already with a strong arsenal for a HSer. Coming from the great white north, he didnt get as much exposure, but he is already in the fold. From the sounds of it, we have saved a boat load of cash on our first 10 round selections thus far and might have something in store for a few more signability selections

So we have signed all but 2 of our top 19 picks. Refsnyder is still in the CWS, so he cannot sign yet. And Hensley is holding out hope for more money. The common theme is that he will sign for somewhere near slot. After that, we're probably tapped out in terms of bonus money. I like our haul, especially being able to nab some good prep talent and a humongous power guy in O'Brien. I hope we might see more, but I won't hold my breath

And that is a wrap.

The Yankees ended up signing Hensley for $1.2 mil, or $400K under slot. His MRI didnt show any damage, but apparently he has a congenital abnormality that made them drop the cash offer. He has been hitting 98mph this summer, so I am not sure how much this is actually going to affect him.

The Yankees also signed Jose Mesa Jr, yes, crazy Mesa's kid. He throws mid 90s with a lights out breaking ball who profiles as a high ceiling starter or reliever.

They also nabbed Dalton Smith out of HS in CA who is a solid defensive catcher with power potential. Overall, impressive haul for the Yankees considering what they did in the INTL ranks. They were also able to stay under the cap
