He said before the race he was "Going to put on a show".......34 cars doing 220 MPH...surprised only one person died.

 

I still don't see what the fascination is with cars going round and round for 2 hours....

I feel bad for his two young kids and young wife. He died doing what he loved, but way too young. I still dont see how Indy is even legal. Those cars are effectively modified go-carts that can go airborne at speed over 220mph. Not sure how there arent deaths at every race

Those cars aren't meant for oval tracks. Its not like NASCAR'S big stock cars.

 

Indy cars are basically planes waiting to take off.

 

200+ mph cars on an oval is just insanity. I'm surprise they allow them to race there. Indy cars are more for road course racing with lots of turns and braking zones. You're never going more then maybe, 200mph for more then just a few seconds. In ovals you're always on the gas pedal with little braking to do.
