I've always thought it was crap that they don't recognize Boston for official records. It's the hardest marathon in the world.

 

Besides HeartBreak, it isn't really that difficult a course.

Just going by what I've heard. Maybe there's a difference between most famous and hardest. :dunno:

Francona needs to let DiceK start the 8th and then go get him after he records the first out or lets the first man get on base. Dice needs to walk off to a standing ovation after that outing today. Especially after getting boo'd so bad last outing.

Yeah, it's because it's point-to-point (with a net downhill), not to mention today's race was more than wind-aided. Either way it's unfathomable to see that kind of time on a course like Boston. It would be like Jed Lowrie hitting for the cycle every day for a week (which I guess isn't that hard to imagine these days).

 

And I thought last year's 2:05 course record would be untouchable for awhile.

It all depends on how you approach it really. The downhills early on can beat the s*** out of your quads if you try to take them too hard. It's tough to get a good rhythm going with all the ups and downs too....and being 26 miles long compounds that.
