I don't care if it's only spring' date=' can we seriously deport Matsuzaka? I'm sick of this guy.[/quote']

It could happen

With less than three weeks to the April 1 regular-season opener, the Boston Red Sox have let it be known that a number of players could be available in a trade, according to a major league source.

The Red Sox would move pitcher Daisuke Matsuzaka, who has a full no-trade clause, if they could add to their young catching inventory, the source said. Veteran Tim Wakefield is on the bubble, according to the source, and might be available for left-handed relief help. The Sox would also consider moving one of their two veteran right-handed hitting outfielders, Mike Cameron or Darnell McDonald, with interest in Cameron expected to increase as he plays more. Cameron was starting in left field here Saturday. With young outfielders Ryan Kalish and Josh Reddick still having options, the team's thinking is they could afford to lose one of the veterans, with Cameron obviously having the most value in a trade.

The source said the Red Sox would also listen to any offers on veteran shortstop Marco Scutaro, who at the moment is projected as Opening Day shortstop. The Red Sox have options in Jed Lowrie and top prospect Jose Iglesias, who could play defensively on the big league level right now. Scutaro's versatility -- he can also play second and third -- might make him attractive to teams in need of infield help.

I'd like to see them move Dice-K and Wake. And make some room for other pitchers. A pity Dubront is hurt. They have some good lefties in camp, and should make room for two of them.

I think they are looking hard at Aceves as a Wake replacement--Tito had him go a 3rd inning yesterday after a couple of good innings, but he got hit in the 9th. So much for starters closing games.

You can't deny they need an extra starter or two. As long as Beckett and Dice-K are around.

i would dice-k to leave.

i knw this sounds crazy but what if we traded him to Cleavland for Carlos Santana

NWIH that happens. The Guardians have absolutely no reason to trade Santana. They have even less of a reason to take on Dice-K's contract. And Dice-K is not waiving his NTC to pitch in Cleveland. I believe he said earlier this off season he would only waive his clause if the trade put him closer to home. So it's West Coast teams or bust. There probably a few teams out there that wouldn't mind having him. Oakland, Seattle, SF, LAD, and Colorado could all reasonably have interest.

Miller looks erratic. The stuff is there, but still has mechanical issues. The curve he throws is looking nice, but fastball command isn't good. His velocity is in the mid to upper 90s.

My T.V was on mute :dunno: I can't stand their commentary so I zone them out. It was a close play though.

Well i have it on Nesn and they were saying that he was safe. But it is Jeremy and Don, so yeah. lol

I think we will be very good at the plate, but not too much happening with the pitching. Really liking Lester, Bucholz. Beckett, DK, Lackey I have no hope for. Jenks should help out alot. Do not care for Pabelbon anymore, hopefully this will be his last year as a Redsox. Bard, Oky, Wake should do good. I really miss John Farrell. Go Redsox!

Err....no hope for Beckett? Lackey pitched for one season for the Sox. No disrespect to Wake but you think he's going to be good and Beckett won't? Papelbon had one bad season cut him some slack dude.

Nice to finally be able to watch a game, thank you ESPN2. Rich Hill looked not bad to finish out the game.
