2 scoreless innings for Lester, one walk, one hit, & one K. not vintage Lester, but not bad for his first two innings this year.

It didn't finish not to long ago. When I posted it was in the bottom of the 9th.

Yeah a 6-1 loss, but Papi and the MLB pitching staff looked pretty good.

An interesting article about John Lackey. Yesterday, all he was throwing was fastballs because he wanted to finetune it, and Al-gon noticed and hit the homer.

Another interesting point is in 16 of his 33 starts in the AL East he had a 4.99 ERA-- doing some quick mental math, it he was closer to career averages against other divisions. So, with more mental preparation, declining Rays/Jays offense, and better defense, I see great things from him this year.

TAMPA, Fla. — Terry Francona has not yet announced who he plans to start against C.J. Wilson and the Texas Rangers on April 1.

But if you look at the rotation that's in place now, Jon Lester is lined up perfectly for the coveted assignment.

The big lefty is scheduled to make his next start on Sunday. If you go every five days from there, that sets him up for April 1 with one extra day of rest because the team does not have a game on March 31.

As the rotation stands right now, John Lackey, Josh Beckett, Clay Buchholz and Daisuke Matsuzaka would follow.

Obviously a lot can change between now and April 1. But spring training has reached the stage where the starters get into their five-day routines and for Lester, that has him set up for the Rangers on Opening Day.

Maybe they're throwing us a curveball. If everyone is kept at normal rest, with no extra days....

Dice-k is our team's ace for April 1!

Varitek is out there. I don't know if you still consider him good or bad. Buchholz is on the mound. We'll probably see an appearance from our big hitters later in the game.

i guess i should shut -up it baseball season :D
