Maybe not the most useful way to use a roster spot but they do come in handy from time to time. Due to his likely bloated arbitration number (probably about $5M) George Sherrill may be non-tendered. As bad as his 2010 season was, he managed a .192 .286 .288 line against lefties. Overall he was very servicable in '06 and '08, very good in '07 and great in '09. He has 56 careers saves to boot so maybe his 2010 overall performance was a fluke.

I would love to see the Yankees get him, and I think as a strict lefty specialist, he'd be a good find
