Lester has had a better year than Buchholz. It's just a shame that I seem to be the only person alive who realizes this fact.

You flatter yourself here.

If he had started well, he'd have 21-22 wins now.

So false

The past three seasons, Jon Lester has a 3.23 ERA (3.26 FIP) 8.68 K/9 3.02 BB/9. Not counting Pedro, who was probably the greatest pitcher ever, you’d have to go back close to twenty years to find another Sox pitcher who has been as good over a three-year period. The Sox haven't had a lefty as good as Lester in half a century or more.

He's not disputing your comparison, he's disputing your crediting yourself with being the only one to notice.

More proof of Lester over Buccholz this year, in terms of who's been better:

Lester - 29 GS (2 CG) 190 IP 9.85 K/9 3.36 BB/9 3.17 ERA 3.01 FIP 3.20 xFIP

Buchholz - 26 GS (1 CG) 159.2 IP 6.20 K/9 3.55 BB/9 2.48 ERA 3.71 FIP 4.23 xFIP

Who are you "proving" it to?

Oh, so sorry that that's what you all meant (that others have indeed noticed). I was being sarcastic when I said I'm the only one alive who realizes this, which I'd think goes without saying. Guess I'm just tired of having to make the case over and over again to Yankees fans...but then again this should be of no surprise, given their very thick skulls.

Back to our regularly scheduled program, Lars' numbers the last 9 games look solid.

My comment was referring to your statement saying your the only one that thinks Lester is better than Buchholz. That's why I bolded it. There's even a thread for the two saying who's better. Guess who won? Lester by miles. I don't even think Buchholz was chosen by anyone.

Lester has 7ks so far. I hope he does throw that no hitter. It's on the Yankees so it makes it that much better.

I wouldn't mind if he threw it, because I think it might have the potential to spark the Yankees. Not saying that will happen, but it's always possible.
