Hi all

I've been a follower of the Red Sox since the mid 70's when I first came over to visit my mums relatives in RI and was introduced to the game, but have never been to a game in Boston although have been to games at the Marlins and Padres when we've been over on vacation. I've not been back to Boston or RI since the early 80's and am now bringing my wife over in September and we have tickets for the Wednesday night game against Tampa Bay. We are really looking forward to coming to a game at Fenway and wondered if any of you could give us the best tips for making the most of the evening there - such as wheres the best place to eat (we are staying at the Lenox Hotel so we will be walking to the stadium - what time is best to arrive - what is there to do during the game etc. Also any tips as to what are the best things to do in and around Boston would be well received.

If anyone wants to say hello to us we will be in section 5 91 row EE and you wont miss me cos I'll be wearing my Leicester Tigers shirt (green white and red stripes) as we support our local rugby team over here!

It depends on what you are looking for. A Burtons Grille opened up near the park, and they have a really nice upscale dining type menu. You will spend about 60 bucks per person (drinks, appetizer, tip included in the price). Their menu is here. The best way to enjoy the game is a sausage guy sausage before the game. There are numerous other bars/sausage,hotdog stands around the stadium.

I would suggest being around the stadium around 5pm.

What to do during the game? Drink beer and watch baseball. Also stuff your face with some fenway franks.

If you are in Boston for a couple of days, schedule a Boston Duck Tour. They are a blast. Check out the North End as well. The museum of science and aquarium are also nice.

Thanks Sweet Chin Music - much appreciated - we are in Boston for a week then taking a trip to Newport and are going to a Pats game too! Really looking forward to the game and will aim to get there around 5pm to soak up the atmosphere! Fell free to come and say hello if you're close
