Good read I think. His recovery is coming along well.

“I can throw again,” Westmoreland said. “It’s not there yet, but I’m starting to really get into the idea that I’m going to play again. Going through rehab is very monotonous. At the same time, if you have a goal, ––and I have a big-time goal –– you don’t let that go. I keep thinking back to it –– I’m going to play in Boston one day.”

Sounds like if he's talking about getting back into athletics he's already come out way ahead of where you'd be afraid a guy might.

 

When I heard about that conference call the first thing that crossed my mind is "This is going to be a retirement." Good to know that wasn't the case.

Good news. If he makes it to the professional level, that'd be impressive, and if in the slim chance he makes it to the majors after all, it will prove to me that God truly does hate the Yankees.

Why would he retire? He's 20 and has a dream. It would be a hell of a story, but it is incredibly doubtful that he could do it. I am just glad the kid can walk
