Yes, he says positives and negatives. The chart captures this very well, and it is the reason he rubs people the wrong way. Death, taxes, the chart, Gom trolling.....these things you can count on.

Let me help you out here a little bit. Jacko did the same thing in '05, '06, '07....get the point. Sure, he was right in '09, but it's the same message every year. Color me unimpressed.

There is no mystery. It's the chart.

ORS, where is the link to the chart?

this is some pretty good read you posted. it is very informative especially for people who missed a lot or is new at this because atleast they can read a quick rundown of events in minor league. although i am not a big fan of minor league still i do catch some games so this is very helpful information for me

Some good news! Adam Miller is off the DL. :D Can't wait to see what he can do. Also Slade is done rehabbing, but he'll problably get some EST games in first according to RAB. Last year I think I read the nightly updates just to see what kind of numbers he was putting up, they were kind of like Tyler Austin type numbers, so hopefully he can return to that form.

DJ Mitchell turned in a stinker, but I still would like to bump Garcia off, move Phelps into the rotation and call up Mitchell to be the long man, a spot I think he'd hold for the next 8 or so years.

Gary Sanchez is on fire right now, good to see. Hope he gets a promotion come June, as well as JR Murphy who is turning out solid to good numbers in Tampa.

Turley and Nuding are doing work in Tampa. I think come June DePaula will be a Riverdog, William Oliver will get a bump up to Tampa, hopefully Cotham will be in Tampa by then too. Nuding and Turley get a bump up yo Trenton and Romanski gets slotted into a bullpen spot. No need to rush Mitchell or Campos too.

Bryan Mitchell needs to stay in Charleston for pretty much the entire season. DePaula will probably be in the GCL just to get his feet wet in the pros. My guess is he will end up in Charleston next yr and will fly from there. I'm also interested to see what becomes of Matt Tracy. He has a groin injury of some sort and should be working his way back. He was the surprise of the draft last yr as far as I am concerned

Cito Culver who has been on fire as of late will miss a few games due to his grandpa dying, who was like his dad growing up. RIP and hope he can come back and pick up where he left off.

Cito catches a lot of flack for being an overdraft, but fact is, the kid is going to be a big leaguer someday in some capacity. His glove sticks at SS and he only gets better there. He's a switch hitter and is a natural righty, so he is working on his LH swing. But the big thing offensively that shows me he has "it" is his OBP. He's only hitting .238 on the season, but his OBP is over .350. To me, that's a kid with the right idea at the dish. He's a speedster capable of being a 30+ SB guy who has a good eye and gets on base. Plus, he started out the yr 1 for 25, since then he's been on fire. I like him. He wont be a top prospect, hell, unless he suddenly starts dropping bombs, I doubt he makes any national headlines, but he projects as a solid gloved SS with a good eye and basestealing potential. He has a future in the pros

Banuelos started the yr out with 2 horrific starts, turns out he had a back injury. They cooled him down for 3 weeks and he returned tonight on a 60 pitch count. Great beginning. 3.2IP 2H 0ER 0BB 5K. The BB and the K are humongous. That's what we need to see more of. I'd like for him to be more economical, but for now, he looked phenomenal.

Campos on the 7 day dl after his last start where he got hit hard. No word on whats wrong. Year of the injuries for the Yankees. wow. From top to bottom.

Abraham Almonte is looking good again. .289/.364/.430 as a starting CFer. He's not a power guy, but 4HR thus far is pretty nice, as is his 14 steals.

Another guy playing great of late is Angelo Gumbs. He started off the yr horribly, but his slash line now looks okay at .270/.338/.383. His last 10 games have been otherworldly, though. .364BA with 14 steals in that time. He has 19 in all with only 1CS. For a 19 yr old in long season, he is surely playing well, hope he keeps it up

Matt Tracy missed the entire start to the yr with a groin injury. The lefty has started his long season career off nicely tonight with 4 shutout innings, allowing only 2 hits and a walk while K'ing 4. He was a huge surprise last yr, routinely locating low to mid 90s stuff from the left side

Final line on Tracy, 5IP 3H 0ER 1BB 4K. Great first start of the yr for Tracy. This kid has the stuff and the command to be something special if he can continue to hone his craft

You guys ever going to promote Venditte? I've always found him a fascinating concept, and he seems to be doing well enough to get a showing.

He's being used as a lefty mostly. He is a sidewinder who tops out around 80 from the left, but his slider is nice. Problem is, his right handed stuff is below average at best and we already have Rapada and Logan up. I doubt he will get a shot in this organization, but someone will give him a chance.

Banuelos had a rough start. 5K's in 4IP, but 4 more walks. He looked to be settling in after injury and now he is back to his old ways. Hopefully he will rectify that his next time out.

Good news on the farm, though. Mikey O'Brien dominated in his first AA game, going 7IP allowing only 3H. He is another under the radar kid who could make an impact on the big club. I have followed him since they drafted him out of high school. Big arm from a small frame, but he has toned it down and traded in the 4 seamer for a hard 2 seamer. He now has the stuff to be a middle of the rotation starter, and will likely finish the yr in AA. By next season, he could be on a short list for callup as rotation depth

Ronnier Mustelier might get some time in the bigs this yr, and it would be great if he could. Mustelier is not your typical 27 yr old minor leaguer. He defected from Cuba in 2010 after playing well in the Cuban league. He signed with the Yankees and has dominated his entire career in the minors, spanning now 1+ seasons. Last yr, he hit .356 between A and A+. This yr, he is hitting .340 across AA and AAA. Ronnier looks like a guy who could help us at multiple positions. He is primarily a 3b, but I have seen him in box scores playing 1B and the COF spots. We currently have a guy in Chavez doing that and he isnt bad right now. I am unsure about his capability of filling in up the middle, but if this guy can play the COF spots, we need to DFA a guy like Wise. The guy can hit and should get a shot.

Evan Rutckyj had a nice debut in long season. The 6'5" Canadian lefty was drafted out of HS in Canada in 2010. After remaking his delivery and seeing poor results in the GCL last yr, the Yankees saw a bump in velocity as well as a complete retooling of his curveball. With the improved velocity, he also added a significant refinement to his delivery and has finally started to see good results out of it in terms of less walks and a higher K rate. He was one of the most impressive starters in EST and when the need arose, he got the call. Yesterday, he pitched 5 shutout innings, allowing 2 hits, no walks and 8K's while routinely sitting in the low to mid 90s with the heat. If he has harnessed his mechanics and his velocity, he would have ace potential

Is there any talk of Betances being switched to relief? At this point he's 24 and continues to walk almost a batter an inning. The stuff is there but I feel his control will never allow him to be a SP.

I have been pushing for it for awhile now. He is in the same place, IMO, as Bard. His mechanics are out of whack and his size makes is a little more difficult to repeat them. His stuff is unquestioned. In his last start, he was throwing mid 90s and has been topping out in the 98mph range. His breaking ball is devastating. His change looks great. The problem is, he will throw a nasty curve, then bounce 2 of them. He'll pain a corner than throw 3 of them over the batter's head. He's a f***ing mechanical mess. The problem is, he puts up one dominant start and people go ga-ga over him. They are hoping for a Randy Johnson outcome, but the more he continues to get lost in his windup, the more he is pushing towards a Daniel Cabrera. And with our need for some power at the back of the pen, I'd like to see what he can do. I do think he will be converted if he continues down this path, though
