Your point was that an area supports college baseball, and therefore would support a pro team.

 

My point was that an area supports college baseball, but has little interest in supporting their pro team.

 

I wasn't drawing a comparison between Carolina and Florida, I was commenting on your erroneous deduction that because an area supported college baseball that it therefore would support pro baseball. There is a niche for pro baseball in Florida, it's called spring training.
