So apparently we now have a hole at bench coach. Any idea how we fill that hole?

 

Maybe if Varitek picks up his player option we can just make him the best paid bench coach in baseball.

 

Or maybe we slide Farrell forward and bring in a different pitching coach?

It does make sense to have someone as a bench coach who can step right in and do an adequate job though, for us more than other teams I'd say. Francona's pretty fragile for a man of his age, it wouldn't take many more health complications than he already has to render him unable to serve for a period of time..
