That.

He was just talking s***. That's all we know is that he was talking s***. Seriously, if your feelings are getting hurt or you're being irritated, then you need to grow up and realize that it's just a drunken idiot. You get yourself into trouble for cleaning some guy's clock because he was talking s*** and you got your little feelings hurt

If they're talking s***' date=' you just don't bother with them. If they're getting physical, that's when you put them in their place physically. Again, if it was just him talking s***, you just gotta ignore it and be the bigger person.[/quote']

You try and ignore a drunk ******* who won't stop badgering you. It's easy to sit there behind your screen and say this and that but you truly have no idea until you've experienced it.

I have, and that's how things have ended on multiple occasions, and usually the ******* in the situation realizes they're being a douche bag once they get cocked in the face.

Have you never ever dealt with a drunk person before?

Drunk people are relentless and usually won't stop agitating people until they get punched in the face, and (I can only speculate) that's probably what Glen did, and his friend realized he was being out of line, so it stopped.

Been dealing with drunks since i was 16. Never had to punch one of my friends in the face. Because it's a friend. And he's drunk.

You're making the [improper] assumption that I've never had to deal with a drunk douchebag bathering me before. It's happened to me waaayyyy too many times before, believe me, and it's much more than insulting behavior

Sure, but why would you risk getting into all sorts of deep s*** just because you can't tolerate some dipshit going off on some retarded little rant about your woman? Seriously

Just a drunken idiot? What if 'talking s***' means, I don't know, threats?

Let's use common sense here. Do you think Glen Davis was eager to punch his friend? I don't. Because of this, I figure that this reaction by Davis might actually be warranted.

According to the police report obtained by the Herald, Davis claimed his allegedly drunken childhood pal was “continually bothering his girlfriend,” Jenna Gomez.

This could mean a lot of things, but you'd think the report would say if it was a threat, rather than simply "bothering" his girlfriend. Usually when something's in quotes, it was reported directly from, in this case, Davis himself.

The fact that he didn't want to is irrelevant, because he did bunch his friend in the face.

Its ambiguous. Threats was just an example. Obviously whatever it was was pretty out of line.

And, applying some basic psychology principles, don't you think there might be a decent reason for this? Other than Davis acting like an immature baby who needs to learn to ignore drunken idiots?

Insults are out of line as well, it doesn't mean that you assault someone who's clearly impaired, and whose thoughts are completely unfiltered and erratic. If he was mature, he'd understand that, regardless of how this guy was "bothering" his woman. Like I said, threats is different, but Davis wouldn't simply say "bothering" if it was more than just insults, or possibly advances. His thoughts are just what I said, erratic and unfiltered

With what we know, that's exactly what it was. It doesn't need to get complicated, just stick to what we know, and that's that some idiot was drunk and "bothered" his girlfriend, no need to get into psychological stuff. A guy who's drunk and "bothered" his girlfriend should be brushed off and ignored, there's no reason to risk suspension, bad publicity, etc. just to put a drunken friend in his place

Edit:

If we are talking psychological, though, that's just what it is, it's psychological. The fact that he's immature enough to clean this guy's clock completely trumps normal psychology

I have a lot of trouble believing you've ever really been in this situation. You can pledge to ignore drunk people on an internet forum, but with their behavior in real life, they beg to be socked, and often-times force it.

When the f*** did hitting some dipshit who needed to be hit constitute immaturity?

Yeah, the mature thing would have been to just discuss it with his alcoholically impaired pal. Would've worked wonders, I'm sure. It's pretty much impossible to ignore a belligerent drunk person.

Making an assumption is a logical flaw. You're assuming, again, incorrectly, that I haven't been in this situation. I've been to a lot of beverage parties, and I'm a girl. You don't think I've had a few shots taken at me, or unwanted advances? My boyfriend is 18, and he knows better than to punch a guy in the face because he's calling me a slut and asking how much and whatever. I could probably start sobbing, like an immature little brat, and he'd go off and probably crack him in the nose, but I don't

Also, you're forgetting one important part to this: Glen Davis makes a lot of money to play basketball, and by doing this, he's risking injury, suspension, bad publicity, etc

Other than that, I guess we can just agree to disagree

That's what we're arguing, whether or not he needed to be hit. We haven't established whether or not he did or didn't deserve to be hit

I thought we already went over this:

You.Just.Ignore.Them.

There's nothing to it

As for you not being able to ignore a drunk person, maybe that's just saying something. We disagree on how things should be handled

Again, agree to disagree

Why would he take that back?

If you can't see that KG is a nut case then you're blind.

Because, I am gay for KG. As a woman. I am also gay for Kirby Puckett

KG needs to go psycho on the cavs right now.

KG is not crazy >: \
