Also, Emmz, don't forget that there was a September game against the White Sox (I believe) back in either 2005 or 2006 and it had playoff implications.. the game was running a bit long so they suspended play in a tie game to clear out the twins fans so they could reconfigure the Metrodome for.. UNIVERSITY OF MINNESOTA GOLDEN GOPHERS FOOTBALL?!?!

 

It's true and sad that it happened.. but it says a couple things to me about the region:

 

That baseball certainly is not King in the Twin Cities.. and that it's a good thing the Twins have their own place to call home incase anything like that were to ever happen again..

 

Absotively remember that, 2006, because we were sort of battling to win the division from the Tigers, and Chicago was battling us for the Wild Card (Year where the Twins finished a season with the most incredible streak to win the division on the last day of the regular season, aaaand got swept by the A's). Yeah, it was a big game, couldn't believe that happened, and for THE GOPHERS? They sucked! Who cares about the Gophers?! Well, I do, I love the Gophers, but they sucked, and the Twins were awesome that year, so, yeah.

Heh, they suck at college football as of late, but have rebounded, which I think is awesome. In basketball they have never been all that great, just a few seasons. In hockey, yeah, we rock usually. We're gonna catch North Dakota for 2nd all time there bud. It's gonna happen

You guys aren't getting off to a real good start there if you wanna catch UND.. We took 3 points last weekend and I may go to Cities to see us beat you on the road haha. Gophers hockey is taking a step back this year it seems... and why are there 2 captains on your team?

I have no idea about the two captains thing, usually you just have the one, might has well just let everyone wear the "C" on their jersey. Anywho, Gophers have taken a step back, but the in-state talent is top-notch, and hopefully we can rebound to where we are used to being. UND's goin' down!

Kidding, is it snowing yet in Grand Forks?? I have been run down by a kidney infection and a f***ing cold that kept me out of work 2 1/2 days last week and I limped in here at 830 this morning, told my boss Im dying and not to disturb me till lunch time...Kidney infections are fun, a combo of prostate pain and what feels like kidney stones along with a fever of just below 102 as I type.

If i stay home my wife will abuse me so f*** it, i staggered in here and will sleep soundly with my door closed.Now my ****ing secretary asks me when her review is and where and when our Xmas party will be this year and if she can bring her new beau to the party....

God i hate people and have been pushing an anti stupidity ammendment here at work for 7 years now with no success.....Look for bc to be in the 4 at the end and perhaps another NewEngland team will get there, maybe UNH maybe BU but ya, I do love college hockey.

seriously though I think i'll be around for the long haul this time around.. and Sean I know it's been 8 months now but thank you so much for calling to make sure we were ok during the flooding this past spring.. Grand Forks didn't get it bad at all really but Fargo got whomped. The dyke wall they built here after 1997 is pretty solid and could have probably withstand another 2 weeks of steady rising.

Dont mention the well being check JW, you know how fond we are of you and Stacy and in case of emergency i got 2700 sq feet of house and a 62 inch tv that's open to all comers but bring food. the other industry i ply in gave me angina pain all weekend and with the current kidney infection and 101degree temp associated with it I am essentially a walking zombie these days.

Cranberry juice and tylenol PM is a sad substution for the painkillers I gave up in April.
