To each their own then. Ppinions on color commentators vary person to person a lot of the time. Don't be one of those f***s who think their opinion should be the be all end all opinion on the subject.

Ecks makes me laugh. I like his insights and his euphemisms. And i thing him and Orsillo have nice chemistry in the booth. He's comfortable in the booth. Not the same can be said about Roberts.

I can see Ecks not being everyone's "cup of tea". But I hope he is the longtime replacement for Remy if he doesn't return.

Eckersley? He's about as entertaining as avian flu.
How is that? Please explain. Do you have any stats to back that up? In other words, prove it, prove it, prove it.

Come on, a700, don't start s*** with Jacoby.

Eckersley is awesome' date=' he should totally take Remy's place.[/quote']

It sucks when they go out on the road and we get Roberts or Edes or whomever. Is there a reason he isn't in the booth for road games?

It was so nice this year with MLB.tv. They got the away team feeds now. So it's been all NESN(except for ESPN games) this year, and it was great. Now it's as bad as listening to the Home team broadcast<_>

c'mon, not all of the other teams' broadcasts are created equal, surely it's not as bad as Hawk for example.

You obviously think Eckersley's entertaining enough to take me to task on it, so that's a fairly reliable stat (or fact) that Eckersley's a boring, big-headed dipshit. Like people tend to look out for each other.

I was poking fun at you with your demands for stats and explanations to justify opinion. I don't think Eck has enough depth to last a whole season.

He's a boring big-headed dipshit who has the knowledge of pretty much all baseball broadcasters (which isn't much), and is somehow lower on the entertainment scale than Tim McCarver.

Right, because the subjective gut knows all.

I really like Eck. He's one of the few broadcasters who breaks down pitching really, really well. He predicts more 'next pitches' than just about any announcer, he speaks from the cuff and occasionally makes mistakes that are funny. As a former pitcher and someone who really enjoys the craft I find him to be very knowledgeable and entertaining.

I prefer talk about good at-bats to 'O L00K AT DAT CHEEEEEEEEEEZ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!111'.

I can understand that sentiment.

Hearing about how insert name of hitter is just trying to put in a quality at-bat 7-10 times every single game can get pretty annoying as well though.

This is exactly how I feel. He also adds levity to broadcast that would otherwise be dull. As does Remy. Just in a little more animated fashion. Baseball is entertainment. Eck is entertaining. In my opinion, anyway.

I'm happy to stick with Joe and Dave. Joe Castiglione is almost a member of the family even though I've nenver seen his name spelled on paper.

Bringing in the Sox Talk guy as the backup though... well I just don't like his voice on play by play. The way he sounds on a home run call, well I wouldn't want to guess what else he's doing...

I'd rather have Dale Arnold back as the backup like last year, even if he did keep slipping in hockey terminology and couldn't tell a slider from a curve..
