I think this is a guy to definitely take a look at in a few years. He's 19 years old with the GCL Red Sox. On the 2009 season he has a 1.29 ERA, 25 strikeouts, 7 walks, 1.000 WHIP in 28.0 IP. Small sample size, sure but last year he had a 2.24 ERA, 58 strikeouts, 19 walks, 1.132 WHIP in 52.1 IP as an 18-year old and in 2007 he had a 1.04 ERA, 37 strikeouts, 17 walks, 1.988 WHIP in 34.2 IP as a 17-year old.

Scouting Report: Dominican lefty with a low 90s fastball., a very good change, and a developing curveball. Worked as a bullpen ace/closer in 2007, converted to a starter in 2008. Strikes out more than a batter an inning. The top performing pitcher for the 2008 DSL Red Sox. Shows good velocity, Good command and control. Strong mound presence and composure. Deceptive delivery.

His WHIP has gotten better every year as well as his lower walk rate. I think if there's any young Dominicans to look at if any, he's the guy.

Sounds like what people were saying about Jose Alvarez a couple years ago. Rookie ballers are just too volatile for even me to try to project.

I'm not trying to project him. I'm just saying he may be a guy to eventually look at.

Michael Almanzar says hello.

He may be really struggling now, but remember, the man is 18.

Then I try that, people always tell me I'm projecting them.

And I point to his career batting average almost below .200. Too many mechanical flaws if you've seen video.
