One of the biggest questions to be answered this offseason is if we should re-up Matsui for one season at cheap money. I never thought we'd be saying this, but Matsui is looking great in the DH role. He seems to be moving around much better and is putting together much better ABs. His season numbers are surprisingly excellent.

And I am pretty glad they decided not to put him back in the OF. We have Gardner, Melky, Damon, Swisher and Hinske who could play the OF. We just need Hideki swinging the stick. So, do we offer him a 5 mil contract with incentives for next yr like we did with Pettitte?

You might want to pass on him and collect the picks. I would imagine he's close to type A? Posada is going to need some time at DH eventually to help keep him fresh over the course of the season. And if the Yanks are going to sign Bay or Holliday, PA's might become harder to come by. But at 3-5M, it's hard not to think that be a good move.

 

My guess is he hit's FA, and ends up in SF. Sabean is due to overpay a veteran hitter soon anyways:D
