Guys sorry if this is a really dumb question, but how come Jerry Remy hasn't been on the NESN broadcast recently?

Ok, I hadn't heard that. Thanks for the update.

I have not heard this up til' now. If it's true, that's awful. My best friend had similar symptoms

(recurring symptoms of pneumonia) and succumbed to lung cancer. Let's all hope he is O.K.

"A tweaked Hamstring". Day to day.

K thanks. Did it come on the diving play? Or running the bases?

It has been reported that he felt something stealing second and later it was aggravated in the diving catch attempt. His absence is "precautionary". I got this from Rob Bradford tonight on Comcast.

I just checked Boston.com/sports and they have a brief article that says Remy is recovering from cancer surgery. I clicked on to the link but the page could not be found. That's all I know.

Ouch, that twin killing hurt what could have been a big inning.

Oh, and I'm about 30 seconds behind on MLB.TV.

Out of respect for your delay I'll try not to comment immediately. Sox win here.

Since it's so quiet on the board tonight, I took the opportunity to look further in to Jerry Remy's status.

He had lung cancer surgery "late last year" and never fully recovered from a subsequent infection. He reported to spring training (late) still suffering from the infection. Now he is on indefinite leave of absence from NESN to recover. Ekersley will sub for him during the current home stand and Dave Roberts will take over on the up cumming road trip. Beyond that, there is no plan for color coverage.

I love Eck. "that was a ball. it may only be strike one but it was still a ball"

He has his way of saying things!

I see Eric wedge has finally shaved. As I have stated before, I have had several dealings with him and think he is a nice person. I met Conny Hawkins once. His hands were so long when we shook. But when I first met Eric Wedge, His hand enveloped my forearm. Huge fingers. I know. Who cares. Just filling time.
