The GMen to this point have had a solid, solid draft. They got Nicks out of UNC in round 1 who is a big, physical wideout with better than average speed to replace Burress (or be trade bait for Edwards or Boldin). Then, they had 2 second rounders. The first, an OLB from Virginia, Sintim, who is a solid pass rusher in a pass rushing defense, and the second is Beatty, the tackle from UConn who will provide depth. Of the three, I think Sintim is the most likely to start as a rookie with Nicks having the best potential long term impact. The Gmen are pretty solid on the O-line and this kid they got from CT sounds like good depth if nothing else. He does not sound like a future starter based upon the comments about him (physically underdeveloped tackles dont make solid starters). But I like what they did.

Has a NY team ever, in the history of all history, ever done anything that didn't impress you?

Patriots selected North Carolina WR Brandon Tate with the No. 83 pick in the NFL Draft.

The type of risk the Patriots can take. Tate was seen as a first-round talent, but a torn ACL and a failed drug test knocked his value significantly. He'll get a redshirt year at receiver, but may be the best return man available in the draft. With an aging receiver corps in New England, Tate has major dynasty league upside long term.

Patriots selected South Florida OLB Tyrone McKenzie with the No. 98 overall pick in the 2009 Draft.

After picking up two second round picks in next year's draft for fourth round picks, New England had to use this one because it was compensatory. McKenzie was very productive, but bounced between three colleges. McKenzie is a high effort player who has three down ability and projects to be an inside linebacker in a 3-4 defense. New England may see him having versatility to play outside.

I bet Kilo's s***ing a chicken. Raji + Matthews? Dirty.

Oh HELL yes.

TT did a marvelous job. He gets an A from me regardless of how the rest of the draft goes.

Darius Butler is going to be the best pick for the Pats in this draft.

Agree 100%

Pats have had a good draft so far, especially considering they turned 2 3rd rounders this year into 2 2nd rounders next year

Packers draft two OL in day 2 to address a big need, Meredith fell to them and was an ecellent value pick.

Love it.

Pack have had a great draft. Bottom line is they are a much better football team coming out of the draft than they were going in. It's also nice to have an offseason without the Favre soap opera surounding them.

On a side note, NFLN has been so much better in draft coverage than ESPN (no big surprise i know). I like actually hearing analysis of the picks and how they will adjust to the NFL and their new team.......rather than Kiper reading off the college and combine stats.

NFLN had a few worthless guys (Marshall Faulk for one) but for the most part they were good. Probably the 2 best in my opinion were John Gruden and Mayok (sp?)

While there is a break' date=' look for Julian Edelman (7th round) to make it with the Pats.[/quote']

Really? I was thinking he had a relative in the front office.

Yahoo put New England as one of the six teams that "failed to address their needs in the draft".

Eff yahoo.

They are a bunch of idiots. The same people who said Moss couldn't run and didn't want to play, Dillon was passed his prime and trouble, Welker was too small, we shouldn't have drafted Mayo, blah blah blah. I loved our picks this year. Dudes don't realize that all-time great NFL coaches are generally better evaluators of talent than some "analyst" who watches some "film".

On another note,

"Gameday is currently unavailable for this game. Please try back later."

Great program.... if it ever actually worked right.

What needs did you fix? No LB, no RB, used a pick on a long snapper?

Who needs LBs and RBs when you have Tom Brady and 10 wide outs?

LB we are pretty much set on... anyways, we did draft a LB, Tyrone McKenzie. More importantly, though, I believe the Hobbs trade was in part to clear up a little cap space to get Jason Taylor.

We improved our defense greatly with Chung and Butler, we already have some youth (Mayo, Crable, and Meriweather). Our secondary was addressed with Bowden and Springs. We now also have Wheatley, Wilhite, Richardson, and obviously Butler. SS, in addition to Meriweather, we brought in Tank Williams.

On the offense, We now have a scary good WR core, now with the additions of Galloway and Lewis. We are already set for RB with Fred Taylor, Maroney, Morris, BJGE, and Faulk.

We may very well use Tate (WR) as the kick returner now that Hobbs is gone.

When you have soo many draft picks, you can use one on a long snapper (and he's the best).

A lot of people were also surprised with the 3 O-line selections. Vollmer, who was taken in the second, is a freak of nature. 6-8, over 300lbs, and quick with fast foot work. I believe 10 of the 13 O-liners have contracts that expire after this season. BB is probably stocking up to prepare to let some of them walk.
