He's hitting .240 /.321 /.320 /.641. That's not going to make anyone pant after him. It might get him a look for someone on a utility man's contract next year but even that is stretching it.

Well that's what I was getting at. Him earning himself a ML role instead of heading back to the minors.

Nick Green is a backup utility player. No, backup utility player is not a redundancy, I mean he is best suited for backing up the utility player who backs up the starters. Let's not pretend that, regardless of what he does in the first couple of months of this season, any team is going to give up something of value to get him. Every team has multiple guys like this in the minors and/or can pick them up on waivers for a minor league contract. Please allow sanity to return to the discussion.

Ok the Sox might not get anything for him. But he could earn himself a chance somewhere else.

I really doubt it, if both Lowrie and Lugo are both healthy at any point this season, Green is gonna return to Pawtucket until September. Maybe the Sox would do him a favor and DFA him to see if any other team would give him a shot but like ORS alluded to, guys like Nick Green are a dime a dozen.
