I went to bed after the seventh, I'm very happy I didn't stay up to have a heart attack in the eighth. That said, Dice-K looked fantastic for the first seven innings.

nice effort by the dice man who cometh large.

seattle is just what the dr ordered for an exhausted pen and a shaky start to the 2nd half.

i figured with bedard, washburn and the guy going today as well as a solid pen that seattle would be in the hunt in the west...theyre disgraceful and easily the biggest underachiever in the game with san diego and colorado being close behind.

for what it's worth, if you don't count that thrashing Dice-K took following his DL stint, his ERA for the season would be 2.00

i reiterate that this seattle team is just fascinating in their futility.

oki has found his groove evidently

we got a double edged dilemna,we need wins today but we need fresh arms in october

i dont want paps or oki burnt up

seattle should be a good choice today with a struggling buckholz and no paplebon or okajima available.

Okajima should be available. He made his first appearance after the All Star break just last night. Plus, we've got an off day tomorrow.

And Cleveland is right up there with Seattle in terms of most disappointing teams.

Papelbon should be available with an off-day tomorrow

He MIGHT be available, but you know Tito will only use him if he absolutely has to. Chances are he won't pitch.
